From 0 to 24:00 on December 29, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 207 new confirmed cases. Among them, there were 51 imported cases (17 cases in Shanghai, 10 cases in Guangdong, 4 cases in Tianjin, 4 cases in Fujian, 4 cases in Guangxi, 4 cases in Yunnan, 3 cases in Zhejiang, 1 case in Beijing, 1 case in Shandong, 1 case in Hubei, 1 case in Sichuan, and 1 case in Shaanxi), including 2 cases from asymptomatic infected people to confirmed cases (1 case in Tianjin and 1 case in Sichuan); 156 cases in local cases (155 cases in Shaanxi, all in Xi'an City; 1 case in Guangxi, in Fangchenggang City). There were no new deaths. There were 2 new suspected cases, all of which were imported from abroad (both in Shanghai).

On the same day, 59 new cured and discharged cases were cured, 3882 close contacts were released from medical observation, and the number of severe cases increased by 1 case compared with the previous day.

There are 770 confirmed cases imported from overseas (including 3 severe cases) and 2 suspected cases. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 11,055, the cumulative number of cured and discharged cases is 10,285, and there are no deaths.

As of 24:00 on December 29, according to reports from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, there are 2,563 confirmed cases (including 15 severe cases), 94,691 cured and discharged cases, 4,636 cumulative deaths, 101,890 confirmed cases and 2 suspected cases. A total of 1418221 close contacts have been traced, and 51,144 close contacts are still under medical observation.

31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 27 new cases of asymptomatic infection, including 26 cases imported from abroad and 1 case from the mainland (in Pudong New Area, Shanghai); 2 cases were converted into confirmed cases on the same day (all imported from abroad); 14 cases were released from medical observation on the same day (13 cases imported from abroad); and 507 asymptomatic infected people were still under medical observation (477 cases imported from abroad).

A total of 29,660 confirmed cases were reported from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Among them, there were 12,618 cases in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (12,191 cases discharged from hospital, 213 deaths), 78 cases in Macao Special Administrative Region (77 cases discharged from hospital), and 16,964 cases in Taiwan Region (13,742 cases discharged from hospital, 850 deaths).
