Wisteria has a total of 13 frames, its composition is ingenious, the color and ink are colorful, and Lao Gan writes out the curved stem of the vine with a seal book and a pen, just like a dragon walking snake, refreshing and powerful. When painting flowers and leaves, rouge, garcinia and flower blue are intermutated to moisturize and not vulgar. Elder Sun loves plum blossoms the most, and his plum blossoms are simple and complex, one or two branches of simplicity, one stroke runs up and down, showing the strength of the pen and the cool posture of the wind god. Its thickness and emptiness complement each other, showing the pride of plum blossoms and giving people a pleasing feeling. When painting plums, he once inscribed: "After painting plums for more than twenty years, I can have a few years of frost to observe and sketch under the plums, so I have to borrow other dead branches and miscellaneous trees to replace them." When writing about locust branches to take their thin strength, writing about dead vines to take its coils, or writing about the roots of apricot trees to take its canggu, occasionally writing hazelnut thorns to take its strangeness, and also writing about sparse willows to take its ethereality. This is the spirit of plum that he wrote through the wind gods of other tree species, and he injected the plum blossom into the shape of the thousand and the "invisible" spiritual influence, which is the way of writing the heart, reflecting the principle of affection and creation, and the portrayal of all things existing in the heart.

Zeng Yun: "There are many people who paint plums in ancient and modern times, each with their own feelings, each with its own method, and with different pens. With the cone drawing sand brush method, it has a lean posture; With the brushwork of the house leak marks, it has the meaning of its ancient; With the brushwork of the wall crack, it has its strange wonder; With the cursive method of yi pen, it has its quiet interest. This is all painted with a marrow of its marrow also. "He painted plums in books, writing about the ever-changing plum branches and writing about the wind and bones of plums.

In the Hundred Open Book, Sun Lao's more than ten frames of plum blossoms, the branches are simple and complex, and the flowers are more or less. The plum branches are strong and the flowers are magnificent, all of which very cleverly show the spirit of plums. Elder Sun once inscribed a poem on a plum blossom map: "Stop the cup because you are drunk, that is, drunk to write the soul of the plum." Open the rocks and give birth to huge ravines, and forget about myself. The frost is solid, and the pen and ink are not godlike. The waves are full of smoke, and it seems to be true or not. "Painting mei with what seems to be true or not like true, Xu Wei has it, Qi Baishi has it, but Sun Lao's painting of mei is not a repetition of his predecessors, it is the creation after his own enlightenment, it is the regeneration of the master's mind, the high unity of his personality, character, and art, and the inner portrayal of a calligrapher and painter of the Kaizong Founding School."
