I'm curious how they did it. Consider that, essentially, most game characters are a vertical capsule or cylinder that occupies a single position in game world space, paths in the navigation mesh, and collisions with the world.
Maybe they're still doing it the traditional way of keeping the tail close, but it looks too big, and if they do, it might be difficult to move back and forth through the scene.
On the other hand, if it's similar to a trajectory, or if the head and tail have a point each, and then somehow deal with the body part, it takes a lot of effort to make sure that the body doesn't get tangled up, or there are some strange frame flips. Anyway, it looks so cool.
