Overall, there are many more things to do right than to do wrong. It may be stuffed with things to see, to do, to know, to remember, but when its many systems are combined, it can become a beautiful, exciting, and enjoyable open-world experience.

The stories that drive you through the big map tend to be well told, and well centered around actual characters rather than audio recordings. While maps are full of icons, most of the time they're fun, cleverly designed entertainment, not boring tasks designed to force a list to fill up.

In this game, there's a lot to do and a lot to see, and most of them are worth doing and watching, thanks to a strong script, great visuals, and some noticeable improvements to the basic philosophy of the series.

merit:

Interesting characters filled the task with relevant feedback

There are a variety of activities on the map that are well designed and worth experiencing

The game's battles are more intense and tactical after obtaining advanced equipment

The PS5's performance level is excellent

A lot of great face-catching makes the characters very realistic

shortcoming:

There are too many weapons, equipment, abilities and so on to consider

Stealth offers much higher rewards than head-on battles and can be frustrating

Some technical issues such as material refresh and animation jamming

Aloy isn't as funny as the people around her

This is undoubtedly another successful game in terms of technological innovation and visual performance, and I am reminded once again of the incredibly detailed character faces, as well as the outstanding underwater levels. But I don't like "Desperate West" as much as "Dawn of Zero."

There are major issues with the game's main story, the level design is difficult for me to advance the game the way I used to like, and it makes a lot of new systems seem redundant. On top of that, the game gave me the impression that Guerrilla had pieced together various RPG elements without making them work, and in some cases even made Desperate west look worse.

I'm not expecting breakthrough innovations, but using mature elements always comes with risk, and they may not be as attractive as they should be. Unfortunately, this happens a lot in Horizon West.

IGN:9/10

Combining fun combat, top-notch creature and character design, and captivating open worlds, this game is an absolutely explosive piece that showcases the PS5's performance.

Game Informer:9.3/10

The game set Guerrilla Games to a new standard. Not only does it go beyond its predecessor, it takes the fantasy of Horizon to fascinating places, creating a fulfilling world that will reward your efforts. For the most part, it's a fun-filled experience with jaw-dropping moments and unforgettable battles.

VGC:5/5

Compared with the previous game, this game has improved in various aspects such as combat, story, and world background. It's an incredible game that keeps us motivated to keep playing after we've completed it.

The game fulfills the promise of "more" at almost every level, full of characters, missions, camps, collectibles, and battles with new mechanical beasts, and many new items and battle options added to the game to enrich the content of this adventure. But whether in terms of narrative or gameplay, the concept of "more is good" has put this game under a lot of pressure. Due to too much effort to appear grand and "grand", sometimes this work even loses the core of world construction and plot narrative.

If you like Horizon Zero Dawn, then you will definitely love Horizon West. It stands on the shoulders of its predecessor and comprehensively improves the combat system and exploration experience, filling in richer content, filling the tube, and polishing it more finely.

It will be the benchmark for PS5 graphics for a long time to come, and a textbook example of using the DualSense controller.

Although the plot is not as fresh as the previous game, the game portrays Elloy's image more fully, shaping several impressive supporting characters. Eloy's story will continue, and it will also make people look forward to more stories in the future of the series.
