Recently, the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Ophthalmology Branch of Zhuhai Medical Doctor Association and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Ophthalmologists Alliance Conference were held in Zhuhai, and experts and scholars from the ophthalmology community in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area gathered together to conduct all-round and multi-level in-depth exchanges on the progress of ophthalmic clinical research.

With the theme of "Paying Attention to People's Eye Health and Striving to Make Everyone Gain the Right to See", the conference provided a communication platform for ophthalmologists from many aspects such as prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents, choice and surgical skills of cataract surgery in children, and choice and surgical skills of refractive surgery. Ge Jian, president of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Physicians Alliance, said that with the platform, ophthalmologists can exchange advanced ideas, reach some consensus on the prevention and treatment of eye diseases, and jointly improve the level of medical services. Hou Guanghui, chairman of the Ophthalmology Branch of Zhuhai Medical Doctor Association, said that the meeting aims to further improve the clinical skill level of ophthalmologists, promote the exchange of medical and health information, and promote the development of grass-roots ophthalmic disease prevention and treatment training.
Yu Minbin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Sun Yat-sen University and second-level professor of glaucoma, Yang Peizeng, chairman of the Ophthalmology Branch of the China Association for Middle-aged and Elderly Health Care, Yuan Jin, deputy director of the Zhongshan Eye Center of Sun Yat-sen University, Chen Weirong, chairman-designate of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, and Zhang Kang, professor of ophthalmology at Macau University of Science and Technology, attended the meeting.
