During the Liberation War, Wang Fuzhi was the battalion commander of the Northeast Democratic Coalition Army and participated in famous battles such as Liaoshen and Pingjin. In battle, Wang Fuzhi made many military achievements.
After a long life of war, New China finally ushered in victory. In 1950, Wang Fuzhi and the Volunteer Army participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. He participated in the first to fifth battles, and after returning to China in 1953, he served as the commander of the 115th Division of the 39th Army of the People's Liberation Army.
He was awarded the rank of founding colonel at the 1955 ceremony and promoted to the rank of major general in 1964. At this time, Wang Fuzhi was 41 years old, thinking that he had never returned to his hometown since he was 12 years old, he missed home and wanted to go back to see his old father.
