Yangtze River Daily, Wuhan, December 25 (Reporter Li Xu) The book "Red Memories in the Forest of Maritime Steles", edited by the Party History Office of the Pudong New Area Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Local History Office of Shanghai Pudong New Area, was recently published, which is a collection of documents compiling the red cultural inscriptions in Shanghai. According to the chronological order of historical events, more than 140 monuments and sculptures in Shanghai are included in turn, basically covering the glorious deeds of revolutionaries living, fighting and sacrificing in Shanghai from the last years of the Qing Dynasty to the founding of the People's Republic of China. The inscriptions and documents included are all related to the history of the Communist Party of China and the construction of New China.

The more than 140 inscriptions and documents included in the book are compiled after years of field visits, collection and photography by the author, and relevant data verification, from the perspective of ruins, martyrs' cemeteries, monuments, historical events, party history figures, revolutionary poems, etc., using the method of recording inscriptions, telling backgrounds, and attaching photos to introduce readers to the red story of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai. We can feel the lofty belief of revolutionaries who throw their heads and spill their blood, and they can feel the sense of happiness of the great achievements in the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Whether it is a towering memorial tower or an unsung hero monument lying quietly on the ground, the Shanghai Red Monument documents record the century-old history of the Communist Party of China from one side, and the inscriptions on the sites of the First Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Site of the Second Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the Site of the Fourth Congress of the Communist Party of China are undoubtedly milestones in the history of the Communist Party of China.

The author of this book, Chai Zhiguang, was the director of the Party History Office of the Shanghai Pudong New Area Committee of the Communist Party of China (Shanghai Pudong New Area Local History Office) and is currently the vice president of the Shanghai Local History Society. His major works include "Shanghai Suburban Anti-Japanese Armed Struggle", "Pudong Celebrity Book JianBaitong", "Hanshi Scripture Room Inscription" and so on.
