The platform's official website is currently inaccessible and cannot be directed to the actual experience via Steam. Sansar has yet to issue an official statement on the matter. However, many users have been asking what caused Sansar to go offline, and its Twitter account has not posted a message since August.

If Second Life is a huge world, Sansar's architecture is more of a platform. Here, the Creator can manage virtual worlds and experiences that are accessible to others. Sansar, one of many social virtual reality platforms vying for a place in the so-called metaverse, was originally created by Second Life developer Linden Lab, but in 2020, Linden Lab sold the platform to San Francisco-based Woookey Projects, shifting its focus back to Second Life. Since then, Sansar has hosted a series of events, such as live music performances, but due to the popularity of events such as Rec Room and VRChat, Sansar's events have basically lost heat and attention.
