From 0 to 24:00 on December 23, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 87 new confirmed cases. Among them, there were 32 imported cases (8 cases in Shanghai, 5 cases in Hunan, 4 cases in Guangdong, 3 cases in Guangxi, 3 cases in Sichuan, 3 cases in Yunnan, 2 cases in Shaanxi, 2 cases in Gansu, 1 case in Inner Mongolia, and 1 case in Liaoning), including 3 cases from asymptomatic infected people to confirmed cases (all in Sichuan); 55 local cases (52 cases in Shaanxi, including 49 cases in Xi'an City, 2 cases in Yan'an City, 1 case in Xianyang City; 1 case in Zhejiang, in Shaoxing City; 1 case in Guangdong, in Dongguan City; 1 case in Guangxi, in Fangchenggang City). There were no new deaths. There were 6 new suspected cases, all of which were imported from abroad (all in Shanghai).

On the same day, 59 new cured and discharged cases were cured, 3,069 close contacts were released from medical observation, and the number of severe cases decreased by 1 case compared with the previous day.

There are 668 confirmed cases imported from overseas (including 3 severe cases) and 8 suspected cases. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 10,793, the cumulative number of cured and discharged cases is 10,125, and there are no deaths.

As of 24:00 on December 23, according to reports from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, there are 1,851 confirmed cases (including 9 severe cases), 94,244 cured and discharged cases, 4,636 cumulative deaths, 100731 confirmed cases and 8 suspected cases. A total of 1401028 close contacts have been traced, and 56,557 close contacts are still under medical observation.

31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 26 new cases of asymptomatic infection, including 25 cases imported from abroad and 1 case from the mainland (in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province); 3 cases were turned into confirmed cases on the same day (all imported from abroad); 22 cases were released from medical observation on the same day (19 cases imported from abroad); and 497 asymptomatic infected people were still under medical observation (461 cases imported from abroad).

A total of 29,480 confirmed cases were reported from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Among them, there were 12,550 cases in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (12,186 cases discharged from hospital, 213 deaths), 77 cases in Macao Special Administrative Region (77 cases discharged from hospital), and 16,853 cases in Taiwan Region (13,742 cases discharged from hospital, 850 deaths).
