"爻" (yao2), which is a hieroglyph. The "爻" character of the oracle bone is like the shape of the intersection of things and things, with four strokes per word, one cross for every two strokes, and two crosses for up and down.

There are many different views on the interpretation of the oracle bone word "爻": First, the Gui table records the day scene, saying: Liu Jue believes that bagua originated from the sun shadow recorded by Tu Gui. The sun trajectory from sunrise to sunset can be divided into three stages: "dan, noon, and dusk", that is, "first noon, noon, and afternoon", and draw a thick solid line "one" on a sunny day to indicate yang, and on a cloudy day or shadow, draw two thin solid lines "--" to indicate yin, and the three dots that represent dan, noon, and dusk are overlapped to become gua.

Second, yarrow said: The ancients believed that yarrow had the spirituality of an uncertain prophet, and used different combinations of yarrow to measure auspiciousness.

Third, Gui Zhao said: Ancient divination burned the turtle carapace to produce cracks, and the fortune teller speculated about the fierce auspiciousness based on the shape of the cracks.

Fourth, the knotted rope chronicle says: According to the history, "the ancient knotted rope was ruled, and the saints of later generations were easy to write a deed." Some people think that the ancients remembered big things to tie big knots, and remembered small things to tie small knots. It is also said that "there is a knot in something, but there is no knot in nothing".

Fifth, the calculation of chips: Many scholars believe that "爻" is a chip used by the ancients. There are also sun and moon astrological signs, male and female genitalia say, etc.

One of the golden texts bears the oracle bone glyph, and the other has a three-pronged overlap. The Small Seal Lishu Script inherits the oracle bone glyph and is written as "爻".

The original meaning of "爻" is intersection. It is a symbol that composes gua in Zhou Yi, indicating that all things in heaven and earth change, and there is a fixed number (law) of life and death. Say the text to explain the words: "爻, jiaoye." Like Yi Liu Yao head intercourse also. Xu said that "it is not accurate to cross the heads of the yi liuyao, and the six heads in the Zhou Yi are flat columns, and the heads are not intersected.

"爻" used to explain that there was a cold evil and a murderous meaning.
