Guo Mingxi: Apple's AR/VR devices are expected to be launched within a year

Webmaster's House (ChinaZ.com) December 20 News: According to recent reports, Apple's headsets are expected to offer AR and VR capabilities as well as gaming, media and communications apps, which may sooner or later appear in the hands of customers. While the exact release date is unknown, the approximate timeline is becoming clearer.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently said that Apple's VR devices are expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2022. Kuo initially said the device was scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2022, but after several delays in starting mass production, the fourth quarter appears to be Apple's target time now. The fourth quarter of 2022 is from October 1 to December 31, which means that it may be less than 10 months before the announcement.

Apple is also likely to unveil its headset for the first time at WWDC next June, giving developers plenty of time to prepare apps for them before they are released. Morgan Stanley analysts said the project is now close to launching, and it reflects the development timeline before the launch of the Apple Watch.

The headset is expected to offer a lightweight design, two 4K micro-LED displays, 15 optical modules, two main processors, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, eye tracking, perspective AR mode, object tracking, and gesture control. The exact price point for the device is unclear, but some reports suggest it could cost customers around $3,000.
