Virtual social platform Rec Room has 3 million monthly active VR users

Metacosmic social platform Rec Room recently announced that its number of MONTHly VR active users reached 3 million, much higher than the 1 million a year ago. Because the platform also supports non-VR devices such as PCs, consoles and smartphones, the company says it's only a fraction of its total monthly active users, with Rec Room already installed billions of units on all platforms such as IOS, Android, PS, XBOX and more.

Shawn Whiting, the company's head of partners, said that Quest users account for the majority of Rec Room's VR users, which may be one of the important reasons for Rec Room's user growth, considering the promotion effect of the holiday on Quest sales. And at this stage, most of the users of Rec Room should come from non-VR clients, and the proportion of VR active players among all active players is "quite low", and most users are accessed through platforms such as iOS, Android, PlayStation and Xbox.

I guess the reason why Rec Room released this data at this point in time may have something to do with competitor Horizon Worlds announcing the launch of a sales testing tool in the game.
