December 18 news, at the annual Nio Day conference, NIO released the year's heaviest model ET5, and showed two headsets: the car VR headset launched in cooperation with NOLO, and the car AR glasses launched in cooperation with Nreal.
The VR headset device released by NIO and NOLO is a Pancake VR headset product that supports binocular 4K display, 6DoF inside-out tracking, sub-millimeter-level spatial positioning technology, and millisecond low latency.
Through the VR headset, passengers can broadcast audio-visual entertainment content on demand through the Nio PanoCinema digital cockpit at any time, which greatly enhances the comfort and immersion of passenger audio-visual entertainment.
THE AR glasses developed by WEILAI and Nreal are similar to the previously released Nreal Air, without a camera, which can project a screen size with a visual range of 6 meters and an equivalent of 201 inches, which weighs 76 grams and supports 3DoF content interaction.

With AR glasses, drivers can keep their eyes on the road ahead without having to look down at the dashboard frequently, improving driver safety.
Nio ET5 is 4790mm long, has a wheelbase of 2888mm, is 1499mm high, accelerates 4.3 seconds from 100 km/h, and is equipped with NIO's latest NAD automatic driving system, with 19 driving assistance functions as standard.
Deliveries of new cars will begin in September 2022, and the pre-subsidy price for battery-equipped models is 328,000 RMB. However, VR headsets and AR glasses are not included and need to be purchased separately.
With the rise of smart cars, more and more car companies have begun to build in-car HUDs and immersive entertainment systems as one of the important selling points of their products.
