Audi announced the company's strategic direction last year and made it clear that new ICE models will be cut off in 2033. To this end, Audi has opened its first new concept re-center in Nuremberg, Germany, and will officially open next week, the main role of the center is to provide reservation services and supporting rest areas, for the upcoming new era of electric vehicles to prepare more to meet the needs of customers infrastructure, especially those in the city car owners who are difficult to charge at home.

Today, Audi's electrification already covers models such as the Q4 e-tron SUV and the new RS e-tron GT, including e-tron pure electric/ plug-in products. Considering the growing market demand, the company is also methodically expanding its charging infrastructure. Audi has also introduced the concept of a modular cube "charging center" based on containers. The company can easily assemble or dismantle and transfer its charging infrastructure like building blocks, without occupying a large area of land.

According to currently known information, the Audi Charging Center opened with only about six reservable fast-charging facilities with a maximum power of 320kW, but the upper floor provided a 2153-square-foot lounge + a 431-square-foot outdoor terrace. During the pilot period, the service period will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, and the charging center will have an employee to meet the customer's service needs as much as possible, but the charging facilities and lounges will be open 24/7. Lounge + room service is also available.

At the same time, the center also provides electric bicycle replacement, electric scooter rental services, and has not forgotten to promote its own products (such as detailed information display and Q4 e-tron / RS e-tron GT test drive), not to mention self-service vending machines, mobile car care and other services.

Due to the modular Audi EV charging center with a temporary energy storage scheme of 2.45 MWh, the demands on the grid are not high, and the ordinary 200 kW low-voltage line can meet the demand here. Without pushing the limits of energy storage system capacity, the Audi EV Charging Center, which serves around 80 electric vehicles a day, will open on December 23.
