CBL-Mariner 1.0 gets the November update: Li inside Microsoft

While December is halfway through, today Microsoft released the November 2021 update for CBL-Mariner 1.0. CBL-Mariner, an in-house developed Linux distribution, was released this summer for use by multiple teams within Microsoft in cloud computing, edge computing, and other use cases.

Microsoft's CBL-Mariner Linux distribution is already in use in Azure, WindowsSubsystem for Linux, SONiC, and other Microsoft teams/divisions.

Microsoft has been releasing monthly updates for this RPM-based Linux distribution, and today marks their November 2021 release. With this new update to CBL-Mariner, there are various package upgrades, including DNF 4.10 and libdnf 0.65 for package management, OSTree 2020.1.4, RPM-OSTree 2020.4, and more. CBL-Mariner is now using the latest Linux 5.10 LTS maintenance release.

In addition to regular package upgrades for prominent software components, there are new versions and patches stemming from various security issues. Downloads and a complete list of changes to Microsoft's CBL-Mariner Linux distribution can be found on GitHub.
