In some literary journals, I can often read people's comments about Lu Yao, and I think that there must be a deep reason why this writer who died prematurely is still remembered.
Among the literary scholars of the 1980s, Lu Yao's name belongs to one of the most memorable. Most of his characters are still alive in their hearts and always remembered. For example, the desolate yellow land, the county town in the dust, the xintianyou in the mountain pass, melancholy flashed in the text, as if there were immeasurable grievances hidden in it.

"Life" is Lu Yao's famous work. The novel is written about the rural youth Gao Garin after graduating from middle school to teach in the school, was replaced by the cadres' children, and had no choice but to return to the countryside to work as a farmer. In the most difficult time, meet the country youth Qiaozhen and get the comfort of pure love. Later, because his uncle returned to the county from the army to become an official, he was recommended to engage in news reporting in the county. At this time, his love life has undergone a huge change, and he is attracted to his old classmate Huang Yaping, so he abandons Qiaozhen. Unexpectedly, things reversed, and Gao Garin went through the back door to get the identity of the city man, and had to return to the countryside. At this time, Qiao Zhen had already married someone else. Gaugarin was in a desperate situation.
Many commentators have said that Caugarin has a bit of a flavor of Jullien in The Red and the Black. Others say that Lu Yao wrote the fate of a generation of young people. In any case, Lu Yao is very familiar with the life of the public, the expression of emotions is very delicate, the character is in place, and the character portrayal is vivid. The most fundamental thing is to write about the destruction of people by the irrational factors of the times. It focuses on the relationship between people, how people are deformed in despair, how snobbish eyes in urban and rural areas and the ancient simplicity of the wind affect people in life. How people are swayed by fate and how they fall into the sea of suffering are all recorded in a measured manner. They want to rebel, but they stop at inner activity. Do not dare to face the reality, can only fall in the sea of suffering. Lu Yao deeply resented discrimination in the human world, and although he could only discuss the problem at the level of grievance, the amount of information implied in the spirit was rare at that time. After more than twenty years, such a text can still make people emotional, which shows that his internal skills are not shallow.
This phenomenon is worth considering. The success of a work may ultimately depend on the power of personality. The style of literature is not superior or inferior. As long as the heart is sincere, people have a place to know the heart, there are wonderful intentions, there are textures, and there are readers who can echo in different periods.
