"The Road of Life" premiered, the screen actors were good, but Lu Yao's "Life" was changed beyond recognition

The TV series "The Road of Life" adapted from Lu Yao's famous work "Life" has finally started! After chasing the first episode, let's talk about the feeling of chasing the drama: This drama seems to be filmed very carefully, the picture is atmospheric, the texture is very good, and the actors' acting skills are also online, but this taste is not quite right!

Just watching the first episode, plus the plot trailer behind, you can feel: Although this drama is adapted from Lu Yao's work, in addition to the main characters and character relationships in it, the story and tone of the entire drama have nothing to do with Lu Yao's "Life"!

Let's start with the advantages:

First, the picture is atmospheric and the texture is good.

The play was specially selected in Lu Yao's hometown, Qingjian County, Yulin, Shaanxi Province for filming, at the beginning of the plot, it showed the audience a vast and magnificent picture of the northwest land, as well as the endless Yellow River water, the yellow land that cannot be seen at a glance, the picture is atmospheric and the texture is good.

There is also the mountain road of the ditch and the kankan, the hole cave, the old trees, the stone mill, full of simple and beautiful northwest rural atmosphere.

Second, the selected actors are more in line with the temperament and characteristics of the characters, and the actors' acting skills are online.

Gao Jialin played by Chen Xiao and Liu Qiaozhen played by Li Qin, from obedience to acting skills, are still relatively grounded.

Confidence in his academic performance, his vision for the future, and his cognition of his own destiny, Gao Garin, this ambitious young man in northern Shaanxi, Chen Xiao interpreted it relatively well.

But Chen Xiao is also a 35-year-old man after all, although he is not old, but it is obvious that he lacks the vigorous vitality of a high school graduate, and there is no ambition and desire for the future in his eyes.

Li Qin's movements are sensitive and healthy, and she looks like a rural girl. Driving the tractor is unambiguous, and when the tractor is stopped, the right leg is drastically across the steering wheel, looking big and grinning, a bit of a woman's demeanor. (But I always feel that the action is a little too deliberate)

"The Road of Life" premiered, the screen actors were good, but Lu Yao's "Life" was changed beyond recognition

Li Qin (Qiaozhen), as a beautiful girl in the countryside, actually does not have to paint her face so black. Who said that a peasant with his back to the sky facing the loess must have a black face?

There are many beautiful girls in the countryside who are born with white skin and are not tanned, and after all, they are young and love beauty, no matter how dark can they go?

In the play, Li Qin's face is a little too dark, and she is too thin, so her face looks a little dry.

Rural girls, all hardworking and capable, in fact, are not too slim, will not be weak and uncontrollable, because doing farm work can make people strong, so they are relatively strong and energetic beauty. This is also how Qiao Zhen is described in the original work.

Several old actors who have appeared in the play have performed very well.

As soon as he appeared, a few lines came down, and the personality characteristics of their respective characters were deduced, so that people could tell who was who at once, and there would be no confusion.

Lin Yongjian's village director Gao Minglou, you can see in a few details, this director Gao is shrewd, selfish, sleek, scheming, and hopes to become a dragon.

Liu Liben played by Liu Wei, although there are only two shots in episode 1, but at first glance, he is not an ordinary farmer's role, in the original work, he is the "second able man" in the village, has business acumen, in the drama version, the setting remains unchanged.

There is also Gao Yude played by Li Baoan, that is, Gao Garin's father, who is an honest peasant character who loves his son.

and De Shunye, played by the old drama bone Li Guangfu, is simply unrecognizable that it is him himself. In the play, Li Guangfu seems to use dubbing, and he doesn't speak like his original voice.

Although the Shaanxi taste dialect of several old actors does not sound very authentic, it does not hinder the play of their superb acting skills.

Let's talk about the disadvantages:

First, although the service of "The Road of Life" tries to fit the 80s of the last century, the taste presented is not right!

In the opening shot, the taste is not the taste of Lu Yao's work!

In the opening shot, Gao Garin and his classmate Gao Shuangxing in the same village, riding a bicycle alone, actually raced on the mountain road!

Where is this still the Gogarin in the original book whose family is poor and has an inferiority complex in his heart! It is clear that he is a carefree rural fashion youth who has no worries about life!

Gao Garin's home does not give people the slightest atmosphere of poverty, backwardness, humility, and coldness, and it feels like an ordinary rural family.

Anyone who has read Lu Yao's works can feel that Lu Yao is full of love for the land that gave birth to and raised him, and has a profound experience of the life of poverty and suffering, delicately depicting and full of emotion, so that people can always empathize.

Just watching the first episode of "The Road of Life", I felt that the children from poor families in Lu Yao's original work, in front of the rich and powerful families in the same village (the family of the village director Gao Minglou and the family of the businessman Liu Liben), in front of the high school classmates in the county, the ambivalence of inferiority and arrogance, confidence and humiliation, basically does not exist.

Compared with the original work, this drama version of "The Road of Life" is too new and too fashionable, and it simply does not look like the Shaanxi countryside written by Lu Yao in the 80s.

Perhaps, the director wants to make such a rural period drama with a fashionable tone, just to attract more young people's attention and love the play?

However, the peasant life shown in "Mountains and Seas" is so bitter and rustic, it is still loved by a large number of young audiences!

Second, the plot setting is that Gao Garin is a top student in the county high school, but he was replaced by a double star when he was admitted to college, which is completely different from the theme of Lu Yao's "Life".

Lu Yao's novella "Life" is actually quite a simple story, but it reflects the reality of the times and complex human nature, but it is very profound.

In the original work, Gao Garin returned to the village after failing the college entrance examination and became a private teacher, and then the private teacher was toppeded by Double Star (the name is "Three Stars" in the original work, and the "Three Stars" is changed to Double Star's younger brother in the play).

Later, because his uncle Gao Yuzhi returned to the region from the army, he became the head of the labor bureau, and the deputy director of the county labor bureau arranged for Gao Garin to "work for work" as a county communications officer in order to curry favor with the Gao family.

Gogarin gave full play to his literary talent and writing expertise, and planned for the future with great ambition. During this period, his high school classmate Huang Yaping fell in love with him and broke up with her boyfriend Zhang Kenan, boldly showing her love for Gao Garin and promising to go to her hometown of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province to develop together in the future.

So, Gao Jalin broke up with his rural girlfriend Liu Qiaozhen and was with Huang Yaping. However, fate once again played a joke on him.

Gao Garin was reported by Zhang Kenan's mother to go through the back door to find a job, was fired from the newspaper, and returned to his hometown in ashes. And at this time, Qiao Zhen had already married Ma Shuo!

Gogarin repented of not starting out.

However, if Gogarin is given another chance to choose again, he may still choose to abandon Qiaozhen!

The plot of Lu Yao's novel seems simple, but it truly and sharply reflects the huge urban-rural difference in the 80s of last century, the constraints and insurmountability of rural hukou on rural youth, and how human nature cannot withstand the test of ambitious young people when faced with temptation.

But in the drama version of "The Road of Life", Gao Garin turned into a county tyrant and won the first place in the county!

Such a Gogarin is no longer an ordinary rural youth. It is the dragon and phoenix among the people in the countryside.

In the later plot, there is even a plot in which the place at Gogarin University is replaced.

I don't know if there was such a reality in the 80s.

However, just talking about this kind of plot story setting has fallen into the cliché! The director turned the ruthless hand of fate into Gao Minglou's black heart, which undoubtedly weakened the realistic power of the story.

Being replaced for college is indeed a very sad and infuriating thing, but don't the directors think that such a plot is a little too widespread now?

Last year alone, there were "Happiness to Ten Thousand Homes" and "War of the Roses", both of which wrote about the plot of college places being replaced.

Whether such a plot is added to "The Road of Life" is to disclose reality, or to cause and cater to the audience's heated discussion, only the director knows.

In summary, I feel that "The Road of Life" has been carefully prepared from the service to the actors, the crew, director and actors, and this drama will be a drama with good ratings and word of mouth.

It's just that this drama actually has little to do with Lu Yao's original work!

Just use Lu Yao's name and his weight in the minds of readers and audiences to tell an inspirational story that belongs to the director and screenwriter and uses skills to please the audience.
