In four years, after six versions of the design, OPPO Find N is committed to solving a series of problems such as creases on folding screens, low service life, and lack of lightness.
In view of the pain point that the folding screen crease mentioned by consumers is too large and too deep, the R&D team of OPPO Find N has developed a new Seiko pseudo-vertebral hinge from a core component of the folding screen crease - hinge. The self-developed Seiko vertebral hinge used by OPPO Find N is a water drop hinge that is different from the previous U-type hinges. Why use this new teardrop hinge? We can use a common example to understand. When bending A4 paper, if folded in half, it produces a bend radius of almost 0 mm, and the crease is very obvious. But if we squeeze the ends of the A4 paper and bend it, the middle of the A4 paper will be an arc like a water droplet, with a larger bending radius and almost no creases.
Therefore, in order to further increase the bending radius of the U-shaped hinge of 1.5MM, OPPO has independently designed a new waterdrop-type hinge, and the bending radius has been increased to 3mm. Having a larger bend radius further reduces the hinge's stress on the screen, making creases less likely, with waterdrop hinges reducing creases by 48% compared to U-hinges.
In terms of screen, OPPO Find N also uses a self-developed patented grid matrix to cover the bottom of the screen, further reducing the stress of the reduced bending area, and more than ten times of polishing on the middle frame fitting scheme, effectively reducing the screen crease, by reducing the stress to reduce the folding screen crease problem that plagues the user.
OPPO Find N also uses UTT ultra-thin glass, which further improves creases through extremely thin protective glass for mobile phones with better impact resistance. Compared with other folding screen mobile phones that use plastic as the screen protector material, the experience will be much better.
