According to the survey report released by the survey company Counterpoint on the 16th, MediaTek continues to be in the leading position in the global smartphone SoC (system single chip) market, and the market share of MediaTek's smartphone chips in Q3 (July-September) in 2021 is as high as 40%, up 7 percentage points from the same period last year (Q3, 33% in 2020), and has been the leader in market share for the fifth consecutive quarter. Qualcomm's smartphone chip market share in the last quarter shrank by 1 percentage point from the same period last year to 27%, ranking 2nd, and the market share gap between MediaTek and MediaTek widened to 13 percentage points; Apple ranked 3rd with a market share of 15%, and the market share rose by 3 percentage points over the same period last year; Tsinghua Unigroup Zhanrui performed the most fiercely, with the market share soaring from 4% in the same period last year to 10%, surpassing HiSilicon and Samsung to 4th place in one go; Samsung's market share cut from 10% to 5%. Counterpoint pointed out that in terms of the Baseband Chip market for 5G smartphones alone, Qualcomm benefited from the iPhone 13 with support, with a market share of 62% and a market share of almost doubled compared with the same period last year (32%); MediaTek's market share rose by 3 percentage points to 28%, ranking second, followed by Samsung's 6% (9% in the same period last year).
