The black bush-tailed monkey is endangered due to its scarcity and was listed on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species in 2008 – CriticalLy Endangered (CR).

In the exhibition area of Qinglongshan Animal Kindergarten in Chimelong Wildlife World, nursery staff hold the newborn baby black bush-tailed monkey "Bush" to meet visitors. I saw that the baby monkey had a black hair, and had just grown the iconic "middle part" hairstyle of the black bush-tailed monkey, which was very small and cute in the arms of the nurseryman.
It is understood that Cong Cong was born on July 22 this year, about 200 grams at birth, is a male black bush-tailed monkey, and currently weighs about 462 grams. According to the nursery staff, Cong Cong is still less than half a year old, and still eats artificial emulsion made of milk powder; at the same time, it also breaks and stirs nutritious fruits and vegetables such as apples, beans, guavas, etc., as a supplementary food for Cong Cong.
In order to ensure that the bushes are well nourished, the nursery staff has to feed 6 meals a day. As the bush ages, it will gradually reduce the number of feeding meals and increase the amount of fruit and vegetable supplements until it is completely weaned at the age of 1.
It is reported that the black bush-tailed monkey is mainly distributed in the Brazilian Amazon River Basin, and the adult black bush-tailed monkey not only has a strange "middle" hairstyle, but also has a thick and thick beard, which is impressive in appearance. Although "mature" in appearance, the black bush-tailed monkey is very small in size, and even adult males weigh only about 3.1 kilograms, the size of a newborn human baby.
