At 7:30 a.m., the doctors and nurses who came to take over the day shift had already stuck to their respective jobs and carried out the bedside shift. During the shift, the nurse in charge will carefully examine the baby from head to toe:
Are the vital signs stable, and are there any rashes or ulcers on the skin of the whole body?
Is the infusion site properly fixed, is the liquid unobstructed, and is there leakage?
Is the umbilicus clean, is there redness, swelling and inflammation, and is the diaper dry?
Are the wrist straps worn correctly, match the incubator information, and are the elasticity appropriate?

Without the care of our families, the meticulousness of our work is more like "picking bones in the egg".
The special culture of the department - the daily "medical rounds" arrived as scheduled. We exert the spirit of living to learn from the old, and every morning after the handover of the shift, we provide morning care, blood draw, re-examination, injection, blue light, atomization and other treatments for the babies. Feeding, changing diapers and soothing crying children are interspersed with a busy day of work.
When night falls, everyone has already fallen into a sweet sleep, and the nurses in the neonatology department are inspecting every baby, afraid that a small accident will bring irreversible harm to the baby.
Day or night, what you see is the seriousness, silence outside the door. What cannot be seen is that there are tense and methodical rescues such as endotracheal intubation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and positive pressure ventilation at any time. Among them, "sweating" and "fearing" are self-evident.
When we were young, we were not idle. We are busy with rounds of study, case discussion, special case analysis, strict implementation of hospital infection work, and general cleaning of the whole department. Therefore, we refuse to be labeled as idle and relaxed. The tremendous psychological and physical pressure we experience, every minute and second that we grit our teeth, is unimaginable and incomprehensible to ordinary people. The heartache in it is known only to himself. The process is hard and tired, and finally carries it on its own, only to rekindle new hopes for each family!
As a medical staff in the department of neonatology, we know that life is not easy to come by, so we do our best to take care of it and create one miracle after another. "Escorting all children" it is not only a slogan, but also to provide better services for children, constantly strive to improve themselves, and motivate every medical staff to maintain a spirit of prudence and independence at any time.
We will continue to work together to protect the young seedlings with our arms and hold up the sun of tomorrow with our hands!
