Sustainable development has become a global consensus, and education is key to achieving the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As an important achievement of Nissan Motor's corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, nissan's Dream Building Classroom Project has covered 19 provinces, municipalities directly under the central government and autonomous regions since 2013, and the number of beneficiaries is expected to exceed 1.5 million by the end of 2021.
Mr. Akihisa Suzuki, Executive Deputy General Manager of Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd., introduced the achievements of nissan Dream Building Class since its inception and its prospects for the future. Nissan Dream Classroom is a social welfare project jointly carried out by Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and the National Commission for UNESCO and the Automotive Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. After eight years of hard work and strong support from multiple partners, Nissan Dream Classroom has developed into a benchmark in the field of sustainable public welfare education. With the in-depth development of the project, Nissan Dream Classroom has continuously enriched the curriculum content, innovated the teaching form, expanded the coverage and other initiatives to include a wider group of young people in the project.
In the face of the impact of the new crown virus pneumonia epidemic in the past two years, Nissan Dream Classroom has launched live broadcast and public account teaching formats, providing learning opportunities for more children in a more flexible way. In terms of course content, in order to meet the development needs of the new era of intelligence and digitalization, a series of graphical programming courses will be introduced in 2021 to further stimulate students' learning potential from the perspective of artificial intelligence education enlightenment.
Since its inception, Nissan Dream Building Classroom has received unanimous praise from teachers, students and all walks of life. The edutainment teaching method not only brings rich and vivid curriculum experience to young people, but also contributes to promoting the comprehensive development of youth education and cultivating innovative talents in China.
In March 2021, Nissan China released the "Nissan Dream Classroom NEXT" New Million People Program, while achieving phased results, striding towards higher goals, committed to increasing the number of beneficiaries to 2 million by 2022, continuing to fulfill the commitment of "In China, for China", and cultivating outstanding talents for building a sustainable society.
To achieve the new Million goal, the coverage of the project will be further expanded. In 2022, nissan dream-building classes will be carried out in 21 provinces, municipalities directly under the central government and autonomous regions across the country. At the same time, to further provide a platform for beneficiary students to showcase their learning achievements, it is planned to launch the Nissan Dream Classroom Programming Competition in 2022.
In the future, Nissan China will continue to work with partners such as UNESCO and the Automotive Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade to benefit more students with more colorful and diverse courses, continue to practice corporate social responsibility, and continue to contribute to the sustainable development of Chinese society and the Chinese automotive industry.
