How does the Digital Age Museum go? The "Culture + Technology" International Forum opened in Shenzhen

Where is the future of museums in the digital age? On December 15th, the second "Culture + Technology" International Forum, jointly sponsored by the Palace Museum and Tencent, and supported by the Museum Digitalization Professional Committee of the China Association of Museums and the Informatization Professional Committee of the China Cultural Relics Society, opened in Shenzhen Tencent Binhai Building. More than 50 experts and scholars from many well-known cultural institutions, universities and technology companies at home and abroad gathered to discuss the future of the museum in the digital age.

The theme of this year's forum is "Impact and Enlightenment - A New Leap forward in digital culture services", which aims to further promote the digital concept of museums, promote the application and innovation of new technologies, and jointly discuss the development direction of culture and science and technology.

In November 2017, the Palace Museum and Tencent successfully held the first "Culture + Technology" International Forum in Beijing, after four years of development and precipitation, especially since the experience of the new crown epidemic, what kind of impact and changes will science and technology bring to the field of culture and museum?

At the opening ceremony, Wang Xudong, president of the Palace Museum, said that in the digital age and the epidemic, we should re-examine the positioning and mission of the museum with a longer-term perspective, dig deep into and explain the diversified values of cultural heritage, give new vitality to cultural heritage, and answer the propositions of the times of creative transformation and innovative development.

Cheng Wu, vice president of Tencent Group, said in his speech: "In 2016, the Forbidden City joined hands with Tencent to explore the digitization of cultural and expo, on the one hand, through 'new cultural creation' to create screen-brushing works such as ancient paintings and singing, so that traditional culture can become the trend culture of the younger generation; at the same time, it is based on' New technology 'helps digital infrastructure such as digital collection of cultural relics, and creates WeChat mini programs such as the Digital Forbidden City, so that cultural relics are within reach of the cloud, helping China's cultural museum to plug in a pair of new technologies and new cultural creation wings, out of an innovative model with Chinese characteristics, and contributing Chinese solutions to the development of global cultural museums. The forum lasted for two days and consisted of three sub-forums: "Resonance • New Development of Digital Culture from a Global Perspective", "Digital Transformation Strategy of Traditional Culture", and "Bursting • Aggregation and Improvement of Digital Culture Services".

The forum also set up a special salon session in the Greater Bay Area, where five guests from the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, the Palace Museum, the Guangdong Provincial Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of History and Tencent discussed specific directions such as the cultural policy and construction of the Greater Bay Area, the cultural resources of the Greater Bay Area, and the exchange and cultivation of talents between Hong Kong, Macao and the Mainland (including the exchange of traditional culture between young people in the Greater Bay Area, and the cultivation of cultural talents between Hong Kong, Macao and the Mainland).
