Because her husband was suspected of committing a crime, a woman in Yiyang credulously believed that others could find a relationship to "fish for people", but was defrauded of more than 90,000 yuan. On December 12, Yiyang Heshan police cracked a fraud case and arrested criminal suspects Ma Mou (female, 34 years old, from Heshan District) and Zhou Mou (male, 27 years old, from Zhuzhou City).

"Not only did my husband not come out early, but he was eventually sentenced to five years in prison, and I was sure they were lying to me, so I came to report the case today." At about 17:00 on May 17, 2021, the victim, Ms. Fang, came to the Longguangqiao police station to report the case and told the police about her experience of being deceived. It turned out that after Ms. Fang's husband Li was arrested by the public security organs in October 2020 for suspected criminal offenses, ms. Fang, who was impatient, talked about the matter on the phone with her distant relative Ma Mou, and after Ma told her boyfriend Zhou Mou about this matter, the two had the idea of using each other's rescuers to carry out fraud. After the two sides met, Zhou mou praised himself as having many friends and a wide road, saying that he could help "fish out" Li Mou, but he needed to dredge up the relationship. From October 2020 to April 2021, Zhou and Ma successively fabricated excuses such as hiring a lawyer, giving gifts to leaders, and paying bail, and demanded 95,430 yuan from Ms. Fang and her family several times. After that, when Ms. Fang asked about the progress of the matter, the two prevaricated for various reasons, did not refund the money, and then simply did not answer the phone.

After accepting the case, the Longguangqiao police station went all out to carry out the investigation work, and listed Zhou mou as an online fugitive to pursue, and has contacted his family for ideological work many times, hoping that the criminal suspect will surrender himself as soon as possible. On December 11, the two suspects were arrested by the Changsha police, and the Longguangqiao police station immediately sent personnel to Changsha to escort the suspects back to Yiyi. "We didn't hire a lawyer at all, and we couldn't find any relationship to help her husband figure it out, and the money we cheated was used for living expenses." After interrogation, the two initially confessed to the crime of defrauding Ms. Fang and others of more than 90,000 yuan of property on the pretext of being able to help "fish people". At present, Zhou and Ma have been criminally detained according to law for suspected fraud, and the case is still under further investigation.

Police tip: Everyone is equal before the law, and anyone who breaks the law will bear legal responsibility. The broad masses of the people are requested not to be superstitious about "relations" and to safeguard their own rights and interests through legal channels.
