Nuclear magnetic scans of the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin between China and Germany, experts: a big secret was discovered inside the mausoleum

The "History of Qin Shi Huang Benji" records: "In July, the first emperor collapsed on the platform of the dunes. ”

Qin Shi Huang, as the first ruler in Chinese history to be called emperor, his life deeds and his tomb after his death have become the focus of attention of archaeologists.

Among them, especially the speculation about the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, as well as those appalling unsolved mysteries, have been fiercely debated by many historians.

China and Germany conducted an MRI scan of the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang, and experts said: A big secret inside the mausoleum was discovered!

Sino-German joint NMR scans found the arsenal of the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang

The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor is considered to be one of the largest and most peculiarly structured imperial tombs in the world.

Since its discovery in 1974, the archaeological work on the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin has not stopped, so there are constantly new discoveries.

In the book "Han Old Yi", there is a passage about the construction of the QinLing Underground Palace: in 210 BC, the minister Li Si reported to Qin Shi Huang that he had brought 720,000 people to build the Lishan Mausoleum, but they had dug very deep, as if they had dug into the ground. After Qin Shi Huang heard this, he ordered "another three hundred zhang or even aside."

And this "three hundred zhangs by the side" is to make the location of the Qinling Underground Palace even more confusing, and it has not been successfully interpreted so far, so archaeologists have great interest in the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin.

In order to explore the situation inside the mausoleum without destroying the mausoleum, archaeologists from both China and Germany not only clearly grasped the structure of the tomb through mrimagnetic scanning of the mausoleum of qin shi huang, but also found a large number of buildings buried in the underground palace.

Later, they carried out a trial excavation of the funerary pit numbered K9801 and an area of more than 13,000 square meters. And all kinds of indications show that this funeral pit is likely to be a large "arsenal" in the mausoleum of The First Emperor of Qin.

The arsenal of stone armor is exquisitely made and highly skilled

K9801 funeral pit, located between the inner and outer cities in the southeast of the Qin Shi Huang Emperor Mausoleum, is rectangular in plan, and its main part is 130 meters long from east to west, 100 meters wide from north to south, and there is a slope doorway at the east and west ends of the north and south sides.

Together with the four ramp doorways, the total area of the K9801 pit has reached more than 13,000 square meters, which is the largest burial pit found in the city wall of the Qin Shi Huang Emperor Mausoleum so far.

During the test excavation, a large number of densely stacked stone armor with flat copper wire and stone gizzards were excavated, of which there were about 87 collars of stone armor and about 43 stone gizzards.

According to the analysis of experts, the production of those stone armor should be combined with the jade processing technology of the time.

Through experiments, it can be understood that if a piece of armor with 600 pieces is processed by hand, it is calculated based on 8 hours of work per person per day, then a piece of armor needs more than three hundred to four hundred days to complete.

The total number of armor pieces used in the burial pit is more than 5 million pieces, which can also be seen from the scale of the mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin.

And also because the funerary products detected in the K9801 funerary pit are all military supplies, so experts also call it the armament of the Qin Terracotta Warriors underground palace.

According to reports, the excavated armor pieces are all made of bluestone cutting and polishing, and those nail pieces are also designed into different shapes according to different parts of the human body, including rectangles, squares, as well as tiles, arcs and pointed tails.

In addition, each piece of nail has a square or round hole, which is connected together with flat copper wire. On the side of the nail plate that is not superimposed, there is a smear to modify the nail piece, and the angles that are not superimposed have the corners, so that the stacking of the nail pieces is more close to each other.

The form of these armors is exquisite, and their production process is also quite superb.

It is worth mentioning that although these stone armors are similar in polishing process, they are different in form, and even have fish scales.

Previously, fish scale armor has always been believed to have appeared in the Han Dynasty and was worn by higher-ranking officers, and this time it was found in K9801, which has high research value.

There are many cultural relics in the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang but they are not excavated deeply, and there are two main reasons

First, the danger

According to the "Records of History", the Qinling Underground Palace "ordered the craftsmen to make crossbow arrows, and those who penetrated it shot at it." "This refers to the fact that the mausoleum is equipped with an automatically firing dark crossbow, in addition to many deadly traps, and it is said that there is a large amount of mercury in the tomb, so it is very unwise to open the mausoleum of qin shi huang in a hurry."

Second, the protection technology is immature

"China Cultural Relics News" has reported that even inorganic objects such as non-color terracotta warriors, which are relatively less likely to change, have been exposed for a long time and have also produced dozens of germs.

There have also been cases where cultural relics change as soon as they are taken out of the tomb, so before the technology of cultural relics protection is mature, it is the best way to put cultural relics in the original place.

brief summary

I believe that in the future of the increasing development of science and technology, the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang can be more fully developed, since the current technology is not yet mature, then let the dusty history continue to sleep underground.
