Indeed, the two are not brothers and sisters, but because the Qian family only has an only son like Qian Xuesen, Qian Xuesen's parents who have no daughter under their knees have always wanted a daughter.
Later, I caught up with a visit to Jiang Baili's house, because the Jiang family had 5 daughters. Qian Xuesen's mother then proposed to raise one for him, so Jiang Ying, the third daughter of the Jiang family, became the dry daughter of Qian Xuesen's parents. Qian Xuesen was even more powerful, after graduating from the National Transportation University in 1934, he went to the United States to study in the aviation department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology the following year. In 1936, he received a master's degree in aeronautical engineering, and then studied under Theodore von Carmen, the greatest aerospace engineering hero of the 20th century, devoted himself to aerodynamics and the field of rockets and missiles. Qian Xuesen was also Carmen's most proud disciple at that time.
Here is a digression, although Qian Xuesen and Jiang Ying are brothers and sisters, Qian Xuesen has always had a love for Jiang Ying. In 1935, when 24-year-old Qian Xuesen was preparing to leave for the United States, his parents brought 16-year-old Jiang Ying to send him. On the occasion of parting, Jiang Ying gave Qian Xuesen a copy of Tang poems as a gift, while Qian Xuesen, who went to the United States, has always regarded this Tang poem as a treasure and carried it closely everywhere he went.
After that, it was the story of the two of them studying abroad, and then later, the two students decided to return to serve their motherland, and they met again. When they met again, Qian Xuesen was in his 30s, and when Jiang Ying asked him if he had found a sister-in-law for himself, Qian Xuesen just smiled and did not speak. Jiang Ying saw that her brother was still single and more than 30 years old, which made her anxious to heat the ants on the pot. Introduced the female classmates and colleagues around him to Qian Xuesen one by one, and broke his heart for his brother, but they were all rejected by Qian Xuesen.
Until later, Jiang Ying really had no clue, and directly asked Qian Xuesen what kind of girl he liked. And Qian Xuesen finally plucked up the courage to tell the secret that had been buried in his heart for many years, and he smiled and said to Jiang Ying, "What I like is you, or we will get together." After saying that, Qian Xuesen took out the Tang poem that Jiang Ying gave him that year, and for more than ten years, he has been carrying it with him, and the title page has been turned over.
Jiang Ying was a little surprised to see this scene, and she did not expect that the person her brother liked was actually herself. That Tang poem also touched Jiang Ying, and after much consideration, she chose to marry Qian Xuesen.
After marriage, the two were very affectionate and walked together for 62 years, until Qian Xuesen died in 2009. Three years later, the 93-year-old Jiang Ying also went with him, and this century-long "close relatives marriage" finally drew a happy and satisfactory end. The spirit of the two people to serve the motherland and their unswerving love have also been passed down as a good story by future generations, stirring the hearts of generations of young people.
