It can integrate MIM and indirect metal 3D printing sintering needs! Fuzhi Technology demonstrated the vacuum sintering furnace solution

Direct metal additive manufacturing technology usually covers two mainstream technologies, namely powder bed fusion L-PBF and energy deposition DED technology, while indirect metal additive manufacturing also mainly includes two technologies, namely binder jetting BJ and metal extrusion MEX. With the gradual development of indirect metal forming technology, more and more users are beginning to explore and want to clarify the boundaries of these four technology routes, and select the appropriate technical solutions according to their own corporate strategy and metal additive manufacturing roadmap, and integrate them into the workflow.

At TCT Asia 2024, Raise3D showcased its indirect metal additive manufacturing solution based on the metal extrusion process and revealed how a number of proven bond jet molding solutions can be added to existing links.

Metal components can be fabricated using Raise3D's Forge1 3D printing equipment (based on the metal extrusion process) and, if it is determined to be feasible, can be converted to bond-jet technology or MIM (Injection Metal Molding) for mass production, and the sintering can still be made using Raise3D's S200-C vacuum sintering furnace.

"Compared with other domestic companies engaged in PBF metal melting, Raise3D focuses more on process research based on sintered metal molding, and Raise3D's metal technology team has been engaged in powder metallurgy for more than 10 years," said Pei Liangchao, domestic marketing director of Raise3D. ”

"In addition to providing metal extrusion 3D printing solutions, Raise3D now offers customers the S200-C sintering furnace for low-batch bonding jetting processes, as well as material verification testing and indirect metal sintering services for small batches."

Mai Wei, Technical Director of Raise3D's Metals Division, said: "Compared with the PBF metal direct forming process, I personally feel that indirect metal forming has a wider market space. At present, Raise3D has tested domestic indirect metal forming powders, and found that the density of domestic metal powder molding is not inferior to that of imported metal powders. ”

"The stainless steel powder of MIM will be cheaper because it is used more than PBF powder (a large number of MIM parts are used in consumer electronics such as Apple)."

"Nonetheless, Raise3D has found that the accumulation of traditional debinding and sintering processes has allowed MIM companies to quickly switch to indirect metal 3D printing with a more familiar level and faster transition than the current PBF additive manufacturing process," added Mai. ”

This means that soon the order of the original metal 3D printing service will be broken, and new industry barriers will be established. We'll see! ”
