The first hero in "Shooting Eagle" is not Guo Jing, but this "wall grass" in the eyes of the bar spirit

"The Legend of the Archery Hero" can be said to be a well-known martial arts novel in China. The story of "Shooting Eagle" is set in the historical period from 1199 to 1227, when China was under the rule of the Southern Song Dynasty, the Jin Dynasty, and the Mongols from the south to the north. There are many characters in the novel, some of them fictional and some of them real in history. According to the character settings in "The Legend of the Eagle Hero", the first big hero is naturally the protagonist Guo Jing. However, if you interpret this book from the real historical background, the first hero should be another figure, he is known as the "Changchun Zhenren" Qiu Chuji.

Yau is a real historical figure, born in 1148 and died in 1227, his later years in the timeline of the Legend of the Eagle Shooter.

The real history of Qiu Zhiji is not as strong in martial arts as described in martial arts novels, nor does it help the Southern Song Dynasty resist the two powerful enemies of the Jin Dynasty and mongolia. In fact, Qiu Wasji was born in Qixia, Dengzhou, Shandong. When he was born, this was already the ruling area of the Jin Dynasty, so Qiu Chuji was actually a Jinguo person, not a Southern Song Dynasty, and he naturally had no reason to help the Southern Song Dynasty resist the Jin Dynasty.

In his early years, Qiu Shuji worshipped Wang Chongyang, the founder of the Quanzhen Sect, as a teacher, and accompanied Wang Chongyang in Shandong, Henan and other places. After Wang Chongyang's death (known as "Yuhua Dengxian" in Taoism), Qiu Beji began to devote himself to the study of health care and Taoism, and befriended local literati bachelors, gaining a wealth of historical and cultural knowledge. During this period, the influence of both the Quanzhen Sect and Qiu Zhiji was greatly enhanced.

In 1188, Qiu Chuji, who was already in a high position in the Taoist circles at this time, was summoned to Zhongdu (present-day Beijing) by Jin Shizong (the fifth emperor of the Jin Dynasty), conferred the title of "Gao Gong" (the exclusive name of the Taoist master, who was considered the highest Dao Gong among Taoist priests during The Taoist ceremony), and presided over the "Ten Thousand Spring Festival" ceremony. Three years later, Qiu returned to his hometown to cultivate, and Jin Zhangzong (the sixth emperor of the Jin Dynasty) gave him the plaque "Taixuguan" for his monastic place, which is the Taixu Palace in today's Qixia City, Yantai, Shandong.

By the beginning of the thirteenth century, the situation under heaven had changed dramatically. The Mongol Empire, founded by Genghis Khan, rose to prominence in the northern steppes and soon replaced the Jin dynasty as the hegemon of the north. The Jin state was forced to move south to Henan, becoming a buffer state sandwiched between Mongolia and the Southern Song Dynasty.

In 1216, Emperor Xuanzong of Jin sent an edict to Qiu Chuanji to go to Bieliang, but Qiu Chuji believed that Jin Xuanzong had "unkind evil", so he used the excuse to resign. In 1219, the Song Ning Sect sent people with an edict to ask Qiu Touji to go to Lin'an, but Qiu Chuji believed that Song Ningzong was guilty of "dereliction of government" and refused to resign. However, in the same year, Qiu Zhiji received an invitation from Genghis Khan of the Mongol Empire, and this time Qiu Zhiji did not refuse, but gladly agreed to go.

In the eyes of many bar spirits, qiu is an uncompromising "wall grass". As a Han Chinese, he did not want to repay the Southern Song Dynasty, but he was willing to accept the title granted by the Emperor of the Jin Dynasty. And when jinguo was about to fail, he changed his court to Genghis Khan, which was simply a typical disloyalty and injustice. But is this really the case? Not really.

In the year of receiving the invitation of Genghis Khan, Yau was 72 years old. After decades of monastic career, the honor and disgrace of the earthly world were already too much for Qiu Zhiji, how could he still hold Genghis Khan's "thighs" for his personal fame and fortune? In fact, the reason why Yau decided to accept Genghis Khan's summons was because he had a very lofty goal in mind.

As we all know, Genghis Khan was most famous for two things in his life, one was to create the grand hegemony of the Mongol Empire, and the other was to kill countless people in the process of conquest. The purpose of Qiu's visit was to persuade Genghis Khan to minimize the killing of innocent people.

In the first month of 1220, Qiu Chuji led Eighteen disciples such as Yin Zhiping and Li Zhichang to set off for the north, but the difficulty of this trip was far beyond everyone's imagination. Originally, the agreed meeting place was in Yanjing (that is, the Zhongdu of the Jin Dynasty, present-day Beijing), but when Qiu Andji's party arrived, they learned that Genghis Khan had led an army to conquer Huarazimo in Central Asia. In order to be able to admonish Genghis Khan as soon as possible, Qiu Zhiji, despite his advanced age and dangerous road, led his disciples all the way west and began a journey of about 35,000 miles.

In April 1222, Qiu's party finally caught up with Genghis Khan's army. Genghis Khan, the proud emperor of the world, very politely called him "Immortal" when he saw Qiu Zhiji (not by his name, but "Immortal"). Genghis Khan asked Qiu Zhiji about the way to govern the country and maintain health, and Qiu Chuji replied that Genghis Khan should "respect heaven and love the people as the basis, and take purity of heart and desire as the most important."

After Qiu Chuji met Genghis Khan's "dragon horse" (Qiu Chuji belonged to the dragon, Genghis Khan belonged to the horse), Genghis Khan did indeed ask his subordinates to minimize the killing of innocent civilians, and released tens of thousands of Han and Jurchen people who were forced into slavery in Yanjing and other places. Hundreds of years later, the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty made this comment on this matter: "Stopping killing with one word, I know that the world has miraculous merit." ”

On the ninth day of July 1227, Yau died at the age of 80. Compared with Guo Daxia in "The Legend of the Eagle Hero", who turned the tide, the qiu machine that saved all people from water and fire is more admirable. If there really are gods in the world, that person may be Qiu Chuji!
