Seals of Genghis Khan and the Golden Family Khanate

After studying the seals of the Golden Horde, Chagatai, Wokoutai, Ilkhanate and the Yuan Dynasty, Dr. Б. Nyima, a doctor of Mongolian history, sorted out the general chain and lineage of the seals of the Mongol Empire Khans. During the Mongol Empire, Genghis Khan had his own seal, called the Sun Seal, and his sons also had their own seals, such as Shuchi had с лтэййонги (with a tailed hammer), Chahatai had гилбэр (lightning), Wokuo Tai had дэгрээ (check), Tuolei had сэрэ (three forks) and other seals. The Mongol Empire had strict rules on the use of khan seals, which were only used in the circulation of khanate currency, khanate supplies, state palace construction, khan and his dependents' signatures, and reserves of treasury valuables.

The seal of the sun, also known as the seal of the Yuan Dynasty, resembles the sun that illuminates the universe. The Sun Seal is the seal of an ancient Mongol tribe. In the famous hot spring seal rock carvings near The Binder Mountain in Kent Province, Mongolia, the sun seal with a seat is very eye-catching.

In 1221, after Genghis Khan conquered the Western Regions of Huarazimo, he made coins inscribed with the words "This is Genghis Khan's Money" in the city of Samarkand, with hammers, bow prints and auspicious motifs.

2. This is the seal of Batu Khan, the eldest son of Shuchi Khan, and many cultural relics with such patterns have been unearthed, including a brick. During the excavation of the ruins of the Golden Horde, silver ingots bearing the seal of Battu Khan were also found, indicating that the wealth of the Khanate's treasury was printed with the seal of the Khan.

3. During the period of the second son Chagatai, coins with the seal of гилбэр (lightning) were issued, on which the words "Yark of Chagatai" were engraved, meaning: This is chagatai's order. This seal had different variants on later Khan coins. The Chahatai coins found so far include gold, silver and copper coins, minted in the places of Blate (Dile), Alimari, the largest ear, Kashgar, Bukhara and so on.

4. The Three Sons of Wokou tai have дэгрээ (check) seals. Coins inscribed with the words "Yark of Wokoutai" or "Order of Wokoutai" and with the seal of "check" are strong evidence. The descendants of Wokoutai used this seal. In 2002, an archaeological excavation at the site of the ancient capital of Halaholin in Mongolia found a small silver coin with the inscription "Halaholin" and a "check" seal.

Researcher Б. Nyima said that a gold ring, apparently worn by the nobles of the Golden Horde, had a combination of hammers, flashes, hooks, forks, etc.
