On December 11th, the "Peak Road - Exploration and Research Exhibition on The FreehandNess of Contemporary Chinese Painting (II)" opened in the Art Center of China Art News, sponsored by China Art News and Guangzhou Art Museum, and co-organized by Guangdong Yirun Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd.

The exhibition takes "freehand" as the research aspect, and attempts to explore and present the different generational characteristics of artists born in the 20th century from the 30s to the 70s in terms of "freehand". The first exhibition of the previous "Peak Road" series of exhibitions revolved around a group of "post-30s" and "post-40s" artists, and the artists on the current artistic creation had a "plateau" and a lack of "peaks", indicating the significance of the times when the "Peak Road" exhibition was held, and the necessity of exploring the freehandness of Chinese painting. This exhibition will focus on the "post-50s" artists: Xu Qinsong, Wang Renhua, Feng Yuan, Ma Guoqiang, Miao Zaixin, Tian Liming, Fan Yang, Lao Pu, Zhang Zhimin, Kong Wei, Ma Shulin, Baiyunxiang, Ma Haifang, Hu Shi, Lin Rongsheng, Chen Yuming, Li Yang, Yu Guowei, Chen Hui, hoping that while presenting each artist's personalized creation, it can also let the audience appreciate the exploration and experiment of the "post-50s" artists on the "brush and ink" and "freehandness" in Chinese painting.

He Jialin, former director of the Art Museum of the National Academy of Painting of China

He Jialin, former director of the Art Museum of the National Academy of Painting of China, has participated in several "Peak Road" exhibitions, and for this exhibition, he said: "The 'Peak Road' exhibition can be called a long-term strategic plan of China Art News, and is an active exploration and response to General Secretary Xi Jinping's proposal that there is a "plateau" and a lack of "peak" in current art creation. The 'post-50s' artists focused on by today's exhibition should be a generation of 'shouldering the top' in the current Chinese painting industry, most of them became famous in the 1980s, and in the more than 40 years of artistic exploration, they have formed their own unique artistic style, and everyone's attention, exploration and expression of art, society and life are constantly evolving. They come step by step, everyone has a change in the form of artistic expression at each stage, from which we can see that everyone has a unique insight into how Chinese painting goes deep into life and expresses life today, how to better show the freehandness of Chinese painting, and how to fully mobilize pen and ink. At the same time, each of their artists is already 'peach and plum all over the world', which has had a profound and extensive impact on future generations of artists, and I think it is very meaningful that Today's China Art News can present the creative achievements of this generation of artists to us through such an exhibition. ”

Wang Ping, president and editor-in-chief of China Art News

"China Art News" has always been with its unique media advantages, and actively play its own guiding role in academic creation and research, in view of the "post-50s" Chinese painting artists over the years on the road to the peak of the exploration and experiment, "China Art News" president, editor-in-chief Wang Ping said in an interview: "'Post-50s' artists, we often say' The generation of artists who grew up under the red flag are imprinted with the distinctive characteristics of our times, and their works not only have realistic humanistic care and feelings of home and country, but also highlight the openness and inclusiveness of Chinese society since the reform and opening up. Today, we can also feel from the works in the exhibition that whether it is the subject matter or the content of the performance, there is not only a very strong side of realism, but also reflects the embrace of this generation of artists to Western modern art on the basis of inheriting China's excellent traditional culture. It can be said that it shows an overall style that is not conservative and exploratory, which is very contemporary and also has the character of personal artistic characteristics. ”

Representative of the participating artists, Elder Garden of the Academic Affairs Office of Rongbaozhai Painting Academy

The representative of the participating artists, Elder Pu of the Academic Affairs Office of Rongbaozhai Painting Academy, said in an interview on the freehandness of Chinese painting: "It is very valuable for China Art News to hold such an exhibition from the perspective of the freehandness and pen and ink of Chinese painting. The rice paper and ink used in Chinese painting, the two black and white combinations of painting materials, undoubtedly show that Chinese painting has captured the 'yin and yang' pursued by the Taoists from the beginning. It should be said that our oriental art, from the very beginning, has a freehand, that is, a spiritual and divine art, which requires everyone engaged in artistic creation to have understanding, to live through their own observation, cognition, interpretation, digestion, and combination into new content, which is where the freehandness of our Chinese painting lies. ”

Ma Shulin, representative of participating artists and external researcher of the National Academy of Painting of China

Subsequently, Ma Shulin, a representative of participating artists and an external researcher of the National Academy of Painting of China, said in an interview on the epochal issue of pen and ink: "The 'Peak Road' exhibition of China Art News is very meaningful, not only bringing together Chinese painters of different ages and holding exhibitions, but also in the context of today's era, it puts forward a question for us, that is, how painters should deal with the development of Chinese painting and Chinese brush and ink in the new era. Today's exhibition, of course, also provides me with an opportunity to learn from my peers, so that in the exchange, I can more effectively understand how Chinese painters can go deep into life, take root in the people, express the times, and how to use the freehandness of Chinese painting to create works worthy of the times. All in all, it is not possible to stylize and routineize the pen and ink, and not to use the eyes of predecessors to see today's world, but to capture the vivid life of the times with their own eyes, so that the pen and ink can really be used by me. ”

Chen Hui, a representative of participating artists and a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University

At the exhibition site, everyone unanimously affirmed the quality of the "Peak Road" exhibition, and conducted a more in-depth, systematic and all-round exploration and sorting out of the brush and ink problems and freehand problems in Chinese painting. In this regard, Chen Hui, a representative of the participating artists and a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, said in an interview: "The ultimate meaning of pen and ink is not to say that one stroke and one ink, one move and one style can reflect the spiritual temperament of the picture, I think it is more important to form a complete picture that can express the artistic conception and express the author's cultivation, which is very orderly, tasteful and stylish." When it comes to pen and ink, we often talk about some technical problems, such as thick and dry, wet and wet, sudden setbacks, but China's pen and ink is more to show a kind of artistic conception, interest, including the cultivation of painters, these contents undoubtedly carry the experience of the artist's life, the accumulation of literature and history, and the perception of humanistic feelings, each of us Chinese painting creators must strive to create independent, personalized, contemporary and national painting creation, towards the peak road. ”
