The reason why Geely will take over Lifan is certainly not because of Lifan's influence in the automotive industry itself. It is because Lifan has a lot of things that Geely needs behind the car.
For example, the shell of listed companies, payment licenses and so on.
Coupled with the sale at this time, the price of the acquisition will naturally not be high.
In fact, for Geely Automobile, it is not the first time that it has done such a thing.
In addition to the successful acquisition of the Nordic luxury brand Volvo, which allowed Geely Automobile to pick up a "treasure", in April last year, Geely Automobile hosted the Changsha factory of Cheetah Automobile, which was on the verge of bankruptcy, for the production and sales of new energy vehicles. In the future, it will become the new energy industry base in the central region of Geely Automobile and will become one of the factories of Geely Automobile.
The cooperative company jointly established by Geely and Lifan has a registered capital of 600 million yuan, each of which has invested 300 million yuan, and the shareholding ratio is 50% of the shares of both parties.
The company's business scope is mainly the design, research and development and sales of complete vehicles.
In order to save Lifan Motors, Geely Automobile also gave Lifan Motors, the second mass-produced model of its sub-brand Maple Leaf Automobile, maple leaf 80V, to Lifan Motors, named Lifan 80V, which was officially launched in August this year.
This is a pure electric compact MPV model, the length, width and height of the car are 4706/1909/1699mm, and the wheelbase is 2807mm.
The car is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a ternary lithium battery, and the pure electric mileage of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is 415 kilometers, which is consistent with the maple leaf 80V previously listed.
In terms of price, Lifan 80V and Maple Leaf 80V are also 159,800 yuan.
According to reports, Lifan will also launch two models this year, the 60S and 80X. The 60S is a sedan and the 80X is a large SUV.
Like the Lifan 80V, these two models also use the way of power exchange.
It seems that in the future, whether Lifan Automobile can set sail depends on Geely.
