In 1997, 45 years after Huang Jiguang's death, Wang Qingzhen, as a hygienist at the medical and political unit shelter of the 45th Division of the Volunteer Army, recalled the process of sorting out Huang Jiguang's body. Born in 1931 in a small mountain village in Zhongjiang County, Sichuan Province, Huang Jiguang's family was not wealthy and was often oppressed. Huang Jiguang, who lives at the bottom, has known since he was a child to turn over, and gradually, Huang Jiguang has the idea of clearing bandits and opposing hegemony. In 1949, with the liberation of Sichuan, Huang Jiguang participated in the struggle against hegemony of the Qing bandits, and in the process became a model militia. The suffering of his childhood created Huang Jiguang's lack of fear of bullies, and he was very heroic in fighting against evil forces.
In 1950, with the gunfire of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Huang Jiguang was once refused to join the army because of his short stature, and was later admitted because of his enthusiasm. For Huang Jiguang, his short stature did not affect his resistance to the enemy, and on the battlefield in a foreign land, Huang Jiguang was awarded the third class merit for his bravery in battle in 1952. Unfortunately, in the Battle of Shangganling, which began in October of the same year, Huang Jiguang blocked the muzzle of the enemy's gun with his young life and died heroically at the age of 22.
After the news of Huang Jiguang's sacrifice came, the volunteer army was all sad, and all along, the spirit of Huang Jiguang and even the whole army of the volunteer army will always live in the hearts of the people.
When Huang Jiguang was killed, health worker Wang Qingzhen and two other nurses found Huang Jiguang's body after the battlefield was relaxed, and they cleaned his body and dressed him in a new military uniform.
In 1997, 45 years after Huang Jiguang's sacrifice, Wang Qingzhen recalled the process of sorting out Huang Jiguang's body, she said, when they found Huang Jiguang's body, Huang Jiguang's body had been blown black, and there was a large blood hole in the back spine because it was broken by a bullet, but even so, Huang Jiguang's raised hands have not been put down, making them feel admiration for this hero.
It is worth saying that because Huang Jiguang's body has stiffened, and the raised hands have not been put down, Wang Qingzhen and other nurses have been very difficult to change Huang Jiguang's clothes, and they covered Huang Jiguang's hands with hot towels for several days before putting Huang Jiguang's hands down and changing into a new military uniform for him.
When Wang Qingzhen recalled, her eyes were already full of tears, and for this hero who had passed away for many years, future generations could not calm down when they heard his story.
In addition, Wang Qingzhen's recollection has also made public opinion questioning the authenticity of the Huang Jiguang incident shameful, and their so-called use of the Huang Jiguang incident to convey war beliefs, render heroes, and boost morale are all unfounded speculations. Today, in Wang Qingzhen's memories, Huang Jiguang's heroic spirit cannot be doubted.
