ACCORDING TOE-GM, the cumulative sales of the Buick GL8 family have exceeded 1.5 million units this year, with a cumulative increase of 9% year-on-year from January to November.
In December 1999, the first Buick GL8 rolled off the production line at SAIC-GM's Pudong Jinqiao Base, opening the golden age of domestic public and commercial MPV. After 22 years of development and five generations of product evolution, Buick GL8 has developed from a single model to a GL8 MPV family with three product series of GL8 Evia, GL8 ES Luzun and GL8 Land Business Class, 16 models, and launched a four/six/seven seat three-seat layout, as well as a welfare version of the model to meet the needs of users for diversified and high-quality vehicles.
From January to November this year, the cumulative sales of Buick GL8 series models 149175 units, an increase of 9% year-on-year. Among them, GL8 Aivia and GL8 ES Luzun accounted for nearly 60% of sales, and the product structure and sales quality continued to improve. At the same time, gl8's sales account for nearly 43% of the domestic medium- and large-scale luxury MPV of more than 300,000 levels, ranking first in the market segment; in the joint venture brand MPV models, GL8 accounts for up to 53%.
The Buick GL8 flagship concept car, which was unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show not long ago, indicates that the Buick GL8 family will continue to expand and continue to open up higher-end and more luxurious MPV segments.
