According to Korean media reports, following LG Electronics and Hyundai Motor, Samsung Electronics has also begun to catch the development express in the field of robotics. Recently, Samsung Electronics has reorganized the "Robotics Business Support Task Force (TF)" established for less than a year into the "Robotics Business Group" and operates as another permanent division of Samsung Electronics. This move shows that Samsung Electronics intends to commercialize robotics and generate revenue for the company by setting up a special department.

According to reports, LG Electronics has previously regarded the robotics business as a core new industry in the future, and has set up special departments for the robot business such as the "Robot Business Center" and the "Robot Pioneer Research Institute" in the BS Business Headquarters, through which new product development and patent research are carried out. In 2017 and 2018, it successively acquired robot companies SG Robotics and Robostar, and launched robot products in various fields such as guidance, distribution, and catering.

In addition, Hyundai Motor has also joined the ranks of developing the robot business earlier. In June, Hyundai invested about 1 trillion won (about 5.395 billion yuan) in the acquisition of boston Dynamics, a robotics company. Through Boston Dynamics, Hyundai Motor Group plans to develop robots that can enable human-robot co-operation for production plants in manufacturing, logistics, construction and other fields.

In August, Samsung Electronics said it would invest 240 trillion won over three years in the development of semiconductors, biology, communications, AI and robotics. Through this departmental adjustment, Samsung Electronics is expected to become another potential enterprise after LG Electronics and Hyundai Motor in the field of robot development.
