Emperor Wen of Han was a famous Ming Emperor in history and the founder of the first feudal era "Wenjing Zhizhi". He appeased the meritorious group, built water conservancy, persuaded farmers to take lessons, and rested with the people, although he did not have great merit, but gave the people a happy era. In this regard, there are no more than ten emperors in history who can compete with him. But unfortunately, such a good emperor, family relations are not harmonious. His two sons, Liu Qi and Liu Wu, later quarreled over the emperor's throne. And his two daughters, Princess Guantao and Princess Daiyi, are also very different, one is famous, one is unknown. What causes this result?
The first point: mothers are different
Princess Guantao's name was Liu Yan, and her mother was the famous Empress Dowager Dou.
Empress Dou experienced ups and downs in her early years, and she was originally Empress Lü's palace daughter, nicknamed Dou Ji. Later, Lü Hou gave her to Liu Heng, who was still the acting king at the time, and she felt that the daidi was too far away from her hometown, so she begged the eunuch to arrange herself to Zhaodi. As a result, the eunuch promised her but did not do anything, and Dou Ji was still arranged to be in the daiji. Before leaving, she cried bitterly. But who knows, she was blessed by misfortune, captured Liu Heng's heart, and gave birth to a daughter and two sons for him, namely Liu Yan, Liu Qi and Liu Wu. After Liu Heng's acting concubine Zheng died of illness, Liu Heng did not establish another queen, and Dou Ji actually controlled Liu Heng's harem. When Liu Heng entered the dynasty as emperor and Liu Qi was made crown prince, Dou Ji naturally became empress. Princess Daiyi, on the other hand, is far behind in this regard. It is highly unusual that the history books never say who her mother was. As is customary, her mother was either too low-status or too sensitive. If it is the former, then Princess Daiyi does not have the support of powerful foreign families, naturally there will be no political resources, and it is inevitable that she will not be famous.
But if so, it's still good, if it's another situation, the obscurity of Princess Daiyi becomes a kind of self-obscurity. Some people believe that Princess Daiyi's mother was the deceased Daiwang Zhengfei. Of course, this is possible, but the concubine herself is full of doubts, because the history books do not record any information about the woman, including her surname. According to the situation that Lü Hou forcibly matched the daughter of the Lü family with the prince of the Liu clan, this unknown acting princess was most likely the daughter of the Lü clan. And liu's descendants hated the Lü clan to the bone, and if Princess Daiyi behaved too publicly, it was likely to bring disaster to herself. Therefore, if she is really the daughter of the previous princess, she absolutely does not dare to show off. There is no trace left in history, which is a natural thing.
Second point: Sons-in-law are different
One of the most beautiful things Princess Guantao did in her life was to ally with Wang Meiren, the concubine of the Han Jing Emperor, and push Liu Che to the emperor's throne. In this process, Liu Che became her son-in-law, and a very famous idiom was born called "Golden House Zangjiao". The story itself is very legendary, and even a novelist may not be able to write such a plot. Later, Liu Che became emperor of the Han Dynasty through heaven and earth, defeated the Xiongnu many times, opened up the Silk Road, operated the Hexi Corridor, and played a great role for the Han Dynasty! Moreover, later, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty "deposed the Hundred Schools of Confucianism", and became an idol worshipped by generations of readers! The emperors who can compete with him are no more than five in history! With such a son-in-law, princess Guantao's popularity will naturally increase a lot.
But Princess Daiyi was different. She didn't want to talk about her son-in-law, and even whether she had children was a mystery. According to historical records, Princess Daiyi married Zhou Shengzhi the Marquis of Dai. Zhou Sheng later committed murder, the country was removed, and Princess Daiyi did not know the end, did not say whether she had children, let alone talk about her son-in-law. Without the inheritance and promotion of a descendant, the popularity of Princess Daiyi is naturally not high.
To say a few more words, in fact, the combination of Princess Daiyi and Zhou Shengzhi itself is very strange, Zhou Shengzhi is the son of Zhou Bo, belongs to the meritorious group, and is the main target of Emperor Wen of Han. If so, why would Emperor Wen of Han marry his daughter to him? Aren't you afraid of jade burning? There is a more reasonable explanation: Emperor Wen of Han used Princess Daiyi as a pawn to temporarily stabilize the group of heroes, and once he succeeded, he would not care about the happiness of this child. This does not sound like the style of Emperor Wen of Han, but more like Empress Dou's handwriting.
Third point: personalities are different
Princess Guantao's personality has always been enterprising, and her style of conduct is particularly high-profile. After the Han Jing Emperor Liu Qi ascended the throne, one of Princess Guantao's main tasks was to help the emperor find a woman; when the emperor encountered the problem of heirs, she took the initiative to contact the concubines of the harem to find a patron for herself; after Emperor Wu of Han took the throne, she again used the banner of treating Chen Ajiao to see a doctor, and wantonly amassed wealth and lived a profligate life; in her old age, she could not bear the loneliness, privately raised a face in the palace, and invited the emperor to testify... Just by counting, you can see how many shocking things Princess Guantao has done. So high-profile, it is difficult for her popularity to think that it is not high.
Princess Daiyi has left only a few strokes in history, and it is complete to record her life. As for what story she had, not only was there no history, but not even in the history of the wild. It is not excluded that there is a possibility that the historian deliberately avoids it, but judging from the origin of Princess Daiyi, she absolutely does not dare to do things too ostentatiously, after all, she is a person who does not even know who her mother is, and there is the courage to sing the right stage with the children of Empress Dou's clan?
