The new secretary of the Shangrao Municipal Party Committee is in place.
On December 12, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, held a meeting of leading cadres of the whole city, announcing that Chen Yun would be appointed secretary of the Shangrao Municipal Party Committee and Shi Wenbin would no longer serve as the secretary of the Shangrao Municipal Party Committee; Qiu Xiangjun was nominated as a candidate for mayor of Shangrao City, and Chen Yun was nominated to be removed from the post of mayor of Shangrao City.
Chen Yun, male, Han ethnicity, member of the Communist Party of China, born in December 1976, 45 years old, from Nanchang, Jiangxi, with a university degree.
According to public information, in September 1995, 19-year-old Chen Yun went to Jiangxi Normal University to study computer science education in the Department of Computer Science, and after graduation became an intern student of the Jiangxi Fire Brigade, and in March 2000, he went to work in the security department of the Public Security Bureau of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province.
Three years later, Chen Yun transferred to the General Office of the Nanchang Municipal Party Committee in Jiangxi Province, and from then until October 2010, he successively served as the director of the Comprehensive Division, the deputy county-level and county-level cadres of the Municipal Party Committee.
In October 2010, Chen Yun became the assistant general manager of Jiangxi International Trust Co., Ltd., and in November of that year, he became the deputy general manager of Jiangxi Investment Group Corporation.
In September 2014, Chen Yun served as a member of the Standing Committee and Vice Mayor of the Yingtan Municipal Party Committee, and two years later, he was transferred to the Standing Committee and Vice Mayor of the Pingxiang Municipal Party Committee, and was promoted to Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee in February 2019.
In December 2019, Chen Yun became the deputy secretary of the Shangrao Municipal Party Committee and a candidate for mayor. At the time, the news received widespread attention from the outside world. Some media said that "43-year-old Chen Yun is expected to break the record and become the youngest mayor of a prefecture-level city in the country."
In January 2020, Chen Yun took office as the acting mayor of Shangrao City, and in June of that year, he went to turn positive. At that time, the youngest administrative officer in the prefecture-level city in the country was Wang Liqi, who was born in December 1977 and was then the acting mayor of Jiuquan in Gansu.
After serving as mayor of Shangrao for more than a year, Chen Yun was promoted to secretary of the Shangrao Municipal Party Committee.
Shangrao City is located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province. It is bordered by Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province to the east, Chizhou City and Huangshan City of Anhui Province to the north, and Nanping City of Fujian Province to the south across the Wuyi Mountains. The province is bordered by five cities: Jingdezhen, Jiujiang, Nanchang, Yingtan and Fuzhou. The total land area of the city is 22,791 square kilometers.
According to the data, in 2020, Shangrao's annual GDP was 262.43 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1% over the previous year.
When he was appointed deputy secretary of the Shangrao Municipal Party Committee in January 2020, the organization's evaluation of Chen Yun was, "Comrade Chen Yun has good political quality, young and energetic, rich experience, quick thinking, broad vision, after multi-post experience, the courage to innovate, good at solving problems."

In March last year, Chen Yun went to Wuyuan to investigate and guide the epidemic prevention and opening work of scenic spots. When meeting tourists from Nanjing and other places in the scenic spot, Chen Yun greeted them warmly.
At that time, Wuyuan's "rape flower peak season" went from the highest daily tourist volume in previous years to hundreds of thousands of people every day. In this regard, Chen Yun believes that the gap is not all discouraging.
He believes that the "quietness" of the scenic spot has created a new highlight of Wuyuan's spring tourism! The rape season is less than a large number of tourists, high-speed free, scenic spots are clean, roads are smooth, and people are few and beautiful, which is a high-quality flower viewing experience that has never been seen before.
When he was elected mayor of Shangrao City in June 2020, Chen Yun said that in the 174 days and nights that I came to work in Shangrao, I truly felt "the active creation and rapid changes in the land of northeast Jiangxi, the spiritual outlook of the vast number of cadres and groups 'only fighting for the day', and the unique charm of 'Great Beauty shangrao'".
He said that he will always adhere to the first priority of development, combine it with local realities, seek truth and be pragmatic, take responsibility for his deeds, face contradictions head-on and not "shrink his hands," go deep into the frontline without "throwing his hands," twist the key and not "let go," resolutely implement the matters set down, fulfill the promised things well, and do a good job in the development of Shangrao's cause.
On the afternoon of January 4 this year, the first day of work in the New Year, Chen Yun presided over the first meeting of the 2021 Municipal Industrial and Open Economy Leading Group.
He said: It is necessary to unswervingly "focus on industry and fight a decisive battle in the park" and devote greater efforts to the development of development zones, industrial agglomeration, the cultivation of leading enterprises, the attraction of investment, and scientific and technological innovation.
It is worth mentioning that Chen Yun is also the "long chain leader of the city's photovoltaic new energy industry chain".
In May this year, he presided over the city's photovoltaic new energy industry chain work promotion meeting. He mentioned that we will make every effort to promote the photovoltaic new energy industry to become stronger and larger, and accelerate the goal of "world photovoltaic city".
Today, Chen Yun has taken up his new post and become the secretary of the Shangrao Municipal Party Committee.
Previously serving as secretary of the Shangrao Municipal Party Committee was Shi Wenbin, who was promoted to Standing Committee Member and Secretary-General of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee in November 2021.
It is worth mentioning that Chen Yun is also the youngest municipal party secretary in Jiangxi prefecture-level cities.
According to public information, the youngest municipal party secretary in the prefecture-level city in the country is Wang Liqi, secretary of the Jiuquan Municipal Party Committee in Gansu Province, born in December 1977.
