"Bite" the green mountain and do not relax: Lan Linjin has been cultivating the mountain by planting trees for ten years by relying on the stump of his arm

On November 24, Lanlingin "pruned" the camellia oleifera tree. Because of the loss of his hands, LanLingin could only bite off the overly long branches through his teeth.

On the Hongqi Ridge in Daifang Village, Sanzhou Town, Changting County, Fujian Province, every time the oil tea pruning season comes, people can see a middle-aged man with his mouth biting the broken branches around the mountain. He is LanLingin, known as the "Iron Man with the Broken Arm".

Because of an accident, Lan Linjin had his arms amputated high and he was blind in his left eye. However, as a soldier and did not accept defeat, he had to take care of himself and not lose his production. In 2010, in the surprise of others thinking that he was "crazy", he contracted more than 2,000 acres of barren mountains in Hongqiling that had been burned.

Lan Linjin grew up accustomed to the scene of soil erosion of "a heavy rain and no distinction between rivers and fields". At the age of 15, the muddy water on the "Bald Mountain" rushed down, destroying his family's new earthen house that was about to be tiled, and his old father, who had been saving all his life, ended up depressed.

In order to plant trees and raise mountains, for more than ten years, Lan Linjin, who lost his hands, planted trees with stumps and "pruned" branches with his mouth, making unimaginable efforts for ordinary people. Today's Hongqi Ridge is already a green area. More than 2,000 acres of barren mountains, half of the grass-sealed mountains to cultivate forests, half of them are oil tea, pineapples, navel oranges and other cash crops, which can bring more than 100,000 yuan of income every year, and the old Lan family has built a three-story small building at the foot of the mountain.

"The development of ecological agriculture can change the fate of the mountains as well as their own destiny." Lanlingin said.
