On the afternoon of November 30, the moving melody of the classic song "Honghu Water, Waves Hitting the Waves" sounded in the lecture hall of the Huarong District Library of Ezhou City, and the classic national opera "Honghu Red Guards" rehearsed by the Hubei Provincial Opera and Dance Theater was brilliantly staged here. The opera "Honghu Red Guards", which was first performed in 1959, tells the story of the Honghu region of Hubei Province in the 1930s, when the Red Second Army led by He Long was temporarily withdrawn from the tug-of-war with the enemy, and the local revolutionary armed forces "Honghu Red Guards", under the leadership of Han Ying, secretary of the township party branch, and Liu Chuang, the captain of the township party branch, skillfully maneuvered with the Kuomintang security group and the local lake tyrant Peng Batian, dealing a heavy blow to the enemy, and truly reproduced the heroic group of revolutionaries who dared to struggle and were not afraid of sacrifice under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
"Honghu Red Guards" adopts the Jingzhou Tianyuan Flower Drum with a strong Hubei local style, using the folk minor key as the material, and at the same time draws on the drama of Western opera in the expression method and the advantages of musical symphony, and vividly presents the heroic story in the beacon years. The exquisite performances of the actors and the popular melody brought everyone into the glorious years of the revolutionary period, and the unswerving revolutionary faith and arduous fighting spirit of the revolutionary predecessors deeply shook everyone's soul.
