The drama tells the story of the Honghu area of Hubei Province in 1930, when the Red Second Army led by He Long was temporarily withdrawn in a tug-of-war with the enemy, and the honghu Red Guards, under the leadership of Han Ying and Liu Chuang, skillfully maneuvered with the Kuomintang security regiment and the local lake bully Peng Batian, dealing a heavy blow to the invading enemy.
