In the evening, the red classic opera "Honghu Red Guards" created and performed by hubei opera and dance theater was passionately staged at South Central University for Nationalities, from "Red Guards Song", "Holding a Saucer" to "Honghu Lake Water Waves" and other classic singing sections, choruses, duets, solos are sometimes firm and powerful, sometimes beautiful and lyrical, and the audience is also in music and singing, as if returning to the beautiful picture of weaving fishing nets and singing fishing songs on the shore of Honghu Lake.

"Honghu Red Guard" is a landmark classic work in the history of Chinese national opera, since its premiere in 1959, the play has undergone three rehearsals, several generations of actors have continuously inherited and accumulated, so far it has performed more than 3,000 times, and a song "Honghu Lake Water Waves" is even more popular at home and abroad, and has been sung for decades.
More than 3,000 performances have made "Honghu Red Guards" set a record for the highest number of plays created after the founding of New China. "This is undoubtedly a miracle." Earlier, in an interview with the media, Peng Hua, secretary of the party committee of the Hubei Opera and Dance Theater, said. He stressed that "Honghu Red Guards", as a model of national opera, has built up the aesthetic taste and collective memory of generations, which can be called the legend of Chinese national opera, and thus, it has also become one of the brightest business cards of Hubei culture.
Jimu News learned that at present, "Honghu Red Guards" has been successfully selected for the "Excellent Stage Art Exhibition and Performance Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China", and will go to all parts of the country for performance.
On May 7, the crew of "Honghu Red Guards" returned to Honghu, the birthplace of the "Honghu Red Guards" revolutionary team, to perform in order to open the stage. After the performance at the South Central University for Nationalities on the evening of the 17th, the crew will carry out the stage dismantling and loading the car overnight, and go to the performance site on May 18, the Party School of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, to install the stage in preparation for the smooth progress of the second performance.
After the two performances in Wuhan, "Honghu Red Guards" will depart for Shanghai, Jiaxing South Lake, Jinggangshan, Xibaipo, Yan'an and other revolutionary holy places, and continue to spread the "Honghu Spirit".
