In 2005, in order to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Chinese cinema (1905-2005), the China Film Performing Arts Society invited 100 well-known domestic film artists, critics, historians, educators and producers to select 10 performing artists who have made outstanding contributions to the development of Chinese film from the film actors in the past 100 years, namely Jin Yan, Shi Hua, Zhao Dan, Bruce Lee, Zhang Guorong, Jackie Chan, Jiang Wen, Wang Xingang, Ge You, Sun Daolin, etc.

Shi Hua, born in Tianjin on March 2, 1915, was originally named Shi Yutao. At the age of 19, he entered the Beijing Tomorrow Theater Troupe as a drama business, and later, gradually liked to perform, he made cameo roles in some dramas, and since then he has been unable to receive anything.
In 1937, Shi Hui came to Shanghai and successively participated in the China Traveling Theater Troupe, Shanghai Opera Art Company, Shanghai Professional Theater Troupe, Hard work Troupe, China Performing Arts Society and other performance groups.
During this period, Shi Hua performed many dramas such as "Sunrise", "Home", "Thunderstorm", "Zhengqi Song", "Big Circus", "Begonias", etc., and also wrote drama scripts such as "Yunnan Uprising", directed "Sherlock Holmes" and other dramas, and was later praised by newspapers and audiences as "Drama Emperor".
Shi Hua's first film was released in 1941, directed by Wu Yuzhi, starring Shi Hui and Han Fei in "The Scenery of the Troubled World", in which he played the male protagonist Sun Boxu.
