From the "land of the original heart" Ofagon County; in 2017, at the age of 24, I was fascinated by the blue sky and high peaks of Miolo; in 2018, I turned to Zolodi, cruising on the stagecoaches of the Wagun Line. From 2019 to 2021, two years of perseverance, 28-year-old me, and the motherland, and "Little Russia", and my comrades-in-arms have experienced metamorphosis.

The flag in the mountains
On July 13, 2019, starting from the village of Miolo in Shiyueliang Township, along the beautiful road, countless winding curves, just seven kilometers, carefully driving on the unsealed road, it took nearly an hour to squeeze into the stadium buried by building materials, garbage, chicken barking, and random transportation. Park the car, the air is filled with the smell of construction cement, firewood and smoke mixed. Looking up, we finally saw the flag we were looking for along the way.
At the head of the door, the sign of the Okoro Village Committee is erected, and there is a vast depth in the black characters on a white background. Turning his head, I don't know when, the surrounding area is already bustling, and the villagers who are watching are either forked or bowed. Curiously looking at the stranger, he could not see the joy or anger. Or to analyze our origins, or to worry about what outsiders will take from them. At the gate, the lively children are like the artemisia grass in the countryside, although it is not trimmed, it is full of natural atmosphere.
The entrance is still full of building materials in the courtyard, a simple kitchen has been built in the lower right corner of the courtyard, the door on the second floor of the first floor is closed, and the door is facing a simple toilet and a bathroom with a broken lock, the accommodation office area is mixed, and the quiet in the courtyard is like night. Shouting twice in his throat, a few team members came out, while speaking in a light tone, routinely introducing to us, while naturally taking the luggage to help settle.
Entering the household to draw a topographic map of the contact household, the mind only has the curved horse road and the line of the entrance path, can not figure out the show, and can not cut things, can only roll up the pants, roll up the sleeves, take steps. For so many years, everyone has not come this way.
Along the country road, many sections of potholed mountain roads on one side of the hillside, on the other side of the deep valley, winding between the mountains, if you want to travel through the village, it is not enough to spend a whole day, and the only way for the villagers to get out of the mountain is to rely on their feet to trek on the sheep gut path for dozens of kilometers. The road down the mountain is too rough, and the 21 groups living in the mountains "rely on traffic, communication by roaring", "look up to see, walk for half a day".
In the face of such a village, in the face of "hard bones", I grew up in the countryside and was familiar with rural life, and my heart could not help but giggle, but fortunately, I was an "old man" with two years of experience in the village, saying that I had to change the tone of the retreat drum and play the charge trumpet.
"Cousin" sister
The "stage" was determined, and the division of labor of the "choir" followed. For the rational division of labor among the team members, the secretary sits in the village committee and is responsible for coordinating all affairs, and is our "commander-in-chief and pillar". The secretary is a very knowledgeable gentleman, originally a professor in the party school, under his management, we are like a group of students who have not graduated, if we do not learn enough, we are afraid of losing it. All the other male team members sank to the group as the front line of the "life and death" household team to ensure the timeliness and authenticity of the data.
I, Simi, Ah Ying and Xiaomu who stayed in the village gave full play to their respective strengths and made a good job of "kite, hoop, board, and cymbal". Xiao Mu is the only female party member among us, taking the initiative to undertake the village's party building account work and the submission of written materials in the village; Simi is our financial expert, handling all work expenses and living expenses, and is our "little housekeeper"; Ah Ying and I are jointly responsible for the system data comparison and submission of the whole village, the production of various forms, and the nickname of "cousin" sister came into being.
The village of Okoro, which has more than 5,000 people, is facing the test that all indicators must meet the standards and all data must be complete and accurate. During the period, Ah Ying taught me a lot of skills, and we jointly completed various types of big data cross-comparison, formed a comprehensive data table, and provided the name of the head of the household to know the basic situation of the family and the family's schooling, medical treatment, minimum insurance, public welfare positions, housing standards, policy enjoyment, etc. At the stage of poverty alleviation and assessment, all evidentiary data are provided in a timely manner before and after the assessment team enters the household, and the assessment is successfully completed. At the time of the change of the two village committees, a series of preparatory work such as the voter roll and the production of ballots were completed to help the election be completed as scheduled.
I often miss the days when everyone struggled together, sometimes in the middle of the night a phone call, everyone had to get up all to check a table, a number, the title of "cousin" throughout my experience, it is the embodiment of my work characteristics, but also my love for this job synonymous.
Pioneers
Tian Chengzhong is an extremely experienced elder of the Fugong Court, and we affectionately call him Uncle Tian. When I first entered the court, he was at the grassroots level, and now that I am stationed in the village, he is still sticking to the grassroots. Uncle Tian was in Okoro before me, and in the most difficult period, in the stage when everyone was discouraged from Okoro, he persevered from beginning to end. Because I did not understand Lisu language and had difficulty communicating with the masses, many times I came to the village of Okoro, Uncle Tian took me to visit door to door, accompanied me through my contact household, he went to visit his contact household by himself, saw his waddling back, admiration and gratitude filled his heart.
The traffic in Okoro Village is blocked, the village groups are scattered, above the village committee, and the winding mountain paths are rugged and difficult to navigate, and the drainage is not smooth. Because of the difficulty of walking, the main source of drinking water for villagers is mountain spring water; because of the difficulty of walking, they can only build houses with stone and wooden planks in the mountains; because of the difficulty of walking, the daily necessities of villagers must rely on horses to ride up the mountain; because of the difficulty of walking, children have to go to school and cross mountains on foot; because of the difficulty of walking, children's marriage has become a family burden.
"If you want to be rich, build roads first." However, when the villagers first learned of the news that they wanted to dig a road, the public opinion was churning and extremely opposed, because some of the people's houses and mausoleums were within the scope of road construction, and if they wanted to dig the road, they had to demolish houses and move the mausoleums. Village cadres and village-based work teams have repeatedly gone to the villages to do ideological work, but they have been bitter and soft-hearted, but to no avail.
At this time, Uncle Tian, who had eaten and lived with the villagers since entering the village and had an extremely harmonious relationship with the people, took the initiative to ask for help and personally went to battle. But despite this, the villagers still do not understand, and speak harshly to them, and even threaten violence. But he was not afraid at all, no matter whether the people let him in or not, whether someone took care of him, he still went to every household to patiently explain the significance of road construction, explain the matter of compensation for demolition and relocation, and publicize the policy of poverty alleviation. With uncle Tian's efforts, the masses finally understood and agreed to dig the tongzu highway. Nowadays, when I go to the village of Okoro, there will be no more mud and potholes, no more rocks and floods, and everything I will do is smooth.
Uncle Tian was the eldest of our team members stationed in the village, he was not earth-shattering, only bit by bit; there was no bitter complaining, only selfless dedication. It was his efforts that opened the hearts of the people of Theokoro Village, opened up this road to the Lagu Group, and was the "pioneer" of the Russian Village towards a new journey.
Not one less
Although the road has been repaired, the huge inertia of poverty and backwardness still stays in the village of Okoro, and the children often walk a long way barefoot, like a flourishing wild grass and wildflower, growing freely on the ground. Many children have very few opportunities to walk out of the canyon, and when you walk in all corners of the village, you can see thin children, looking at you with big eyes and hanging noses. But even barefoot teenagers should have the right to knowledge.
Scraping green rice group old Deng, a family of four, the family lives under the road, back to a cornfield, every time I pass the cornfield, I always wrestle without a long memory. The eldest son, Xiao Bai, dropped out of school at home, and the second son, Xiao Deng, studied in the fourth grade of primary school. Xiao Bai is an extremely introverted, afraid of life, a little autistic teenager, at first his parents did not support sending to school, considering the pressure of life at home, coupled with the lack of understanding of our work, many times the conversation was lost.
As the number of visits gradually increased, parents began to resist the staff, and Xiao Bai developed an evasive psychology and began to avoid the returnees. Subsequently, the county adopted the "N-to-one" work model, coordinated leadership + helper + help teacher corresponding to a student, successively for eight months to persuade back to the home, the field constantly communicate with parents and children, with the examples around them to help solve life difficulties.
Gradually, the road, more and more mature, through the cornfield no longer fell; the more words, the more they talked, the parents became kinder; Xiao Bai no longer ran away and avoided. That day, the sun was shining, and it was my 18th visit to Xiao Bai's house. On the way back, there was one more person in our car- Xiao Bai.
"Move" out of a happy life
The remote terrain of Okoro Village, many farmers have never been to the county town in their lifetime, and have long been accustomed to the life mode of slash and burn cultivation in the mountains. Many farmers in geological hazard points are also unable to build houses due to insufficient endogenous power. During the publicity of the relocation policy, although the masses were yearning, they repeatedly refused because of the constraints of the land. When mobilizing and relocating, Lao Kai also revealed his worries to us, for the new living environment, everyone "loves and fears", love because it is really convenient to see a doctor and go to school; what is afraid is because he has lived in the countryside for most of his life and has no clue about entering a new life.
Like Lao Kai, the other elderly people in the village are not easy to accept the relocation policy.
"I'm used to living in the mountains, I rely on the mountains to eat the mountains, pick medicines and grow vegetables, hard work is hard, but I am also used to it."
"Put down the bowl in the village, pick the bag of grain with your hand to fill your stomach, and when I get to the county, what will I eat?" ......
In the face of the old people who are inseparable from their homeland, we have eaten the closed door soup again and again, family after family.
"Moving to the county seat to concentrate on resettlement does not need to be paid, free rooms, medical treatment is also convenient, living conditions will also improve."
"The houses in the city are clean and comfortable, the children are close to school, and they are close to the hospital, which is convenient for care." ......
If you can't go once, you can go two, three, ten times, visit again and again, and persuade and explain. The old people are stubborn in their concepts, starting from their children and opening up breakthroughs little by little. Help the masses to calculate economic accounts and health accounts, take them to the resettlement site to see the houses, enhance the old people's confidence in relocation, gradually break the hard ice of the masses' homeland, and eliminate their worries.
Little by little, pile by pile, piece by piece, helping the relocated masses to change from "peasants" to "citizens", leaving the mountains and rivers, entering the town and going upstairs, the peasant households who have lived in a remote corner for generations have begun to contact new things and ways of thinking that were difficult to contact in the past, and the resettlement sites with convenient transportation and information gathering have opened new windows for poverty alleviation and prosperity.
Gold comes out of the fruit
Industrial poverty alleviation from theory to practice, not so easy, in the collective economy of Okoro village, actively guide and encourage cooperatives to adopt the "party branch + cooperative + farmer" model to participate in the cultivation of passion fruit, the entire passion fruit base project implementation process, paid countless hardships and sweat, such as actively coordinating professional and technical personnel to teach farmers planting and management techniques, taking the initiative to lead farmers to loosen soil, dig ditches, cut piles, help and remind farmers to fertilize on time, water, remove armpit buds, tie vines, etc. Team members stationed in villages, village cadres and the masses work together to learn technology and experience, and realize the transformation from "blood transfusion" to "hematopoiesis".
Kung Fu pays off, there will always be a reward for paying, and passion fruit finally bears fruit. It has a sweet taste and a high juice content. In late autumn, golden passion fruit with a bright yellow hue hangs in clusters on the trellis, swaying back and forth with the breeze, which is very attractive.
One afternoon after returning to the unit, I received a call from the director of TheOkoro Village, saying that the passion fruit was ripe, telling me to hurry back to the village to eat the fruit, hung up the phone and immediately booked, came back to distribute it to friends, and could not help but be secretly happy to hear everyone's praise. Autumn wind rises, autumn is strong; a fruit, two places are sad.
His hometown is his hometown
After living in this village surrounded by mountains for two years, the Okoro at the time of leaving has changed dramatically, and the day I packed my bags and left, I stood on the pitch and looked back, and the indescribable reluctance and pride and sense of accomplishment are still unforgettable.
Back in Okoro, I saw a new heaven and a new land, the mountains in front of me, majestic and beautiful, under the endless sea of clouds, what was once a small brick and tile wooden house has now become a small building. The scenery along the winding mountain is pleasing to the eye, the children play happily in front of the courtyard, the old people bask in the sun, talk and laugh, and open their faces full of happiness...
Looking back at the road to the village, there have been confusion and confusion, but more is growth and harvest. It is an honor to participate in the development of Okoro Village and witness the transformation of Okoro, I am deeply proud and proud, many stories, many emotions, the tip of the pen is endless, everything is deeply rooted in the brand of youth. For many years, it has been said that poverty alleviation is more about experience and growth.
