In recent years, the District Federation of Trade Unions has actively carried out an advanced tree selection mechanism to deeply tap the innovation potential of innovative staff leading talents. In the past five years, 15 craftsmen from Shanghai, 91 craftsmen from Songjiang and 259 craftsmen from towns (economic development zones) have been named, 195 outstanding achievements of district-level rationalization suggestions and 145 outstanding achievements of district-level advanced operation methods have been evaluated, 41 model workers and craftsmen innovation studios have been established, including 17 city-level model workers and craftsman innovation studios, and the selection of district-level outstanding inventions and outstanding innovation projects has been carried out for the first time in the city.

On December 19, 2023, the finals of the China Technical Association Urban Main Industry Vocational Skills (Shanghai) League and the National Network and Information Security Administrator Staff Vocational Skills Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "Network Security Competition") were held in the District Workers' Cultural Palace. A total of 147 cyber security skills from 49 teams from 14 cities across the country gathered in Rongcheng to compete on the same stage. In the same year, the "Cyber Security Competition" was successfully elevated to a national event hosted by the China Staff Technology Association, and Songjiang became the permanent host of the event.
"Building a high-quality competition platform is also to empower the construction of a high-quality industrial worker team. Nowadays, a new ecology of cultivating and growing high-skilled workers and talents has gradually taken shape in various competitions, and the innovation and creativity ability of industrial workers has been accumulated. Statistics show that in 2023, a total of 11 district-level competitions such as CNC machining, integrated circuits, robotics, and biomedicine, 108 town-level and bureau-level competitions, and 998 enterprise-level competitions will be carried out in the district, with 45,000 employees participating.
