In addition to creating artistic legends with sound, Qiao Hazel's life of fighting cancer for half of his life is another legend.

Joe Hazel was first diagnosed with cancer in 1985, when he was 43 years old. After 13 years, the same site of cancer recurred. In 2001, there was extensive bone metastasis. In 2009, he had myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction, colon cancer in 2015, small intestine metastasis in 2017... Qiao Hazel hovered at the ghost gate, again and again. He has talked about his anti-cancer experience many times, and he always thanked his wife Tang Guomei the most. "It was Guomei who pulled me back, without her, there would be no life for me."

Qiao Hazel's spirit also deeply affects the people around him.
