The famous martial arts novelist Gu Long was born in Hong Kong and later settled in Taiwan. In middle school, he fell in love with a girl in the next class named Gu, and this girl had a phoenix in her name, so he later gave himself a pen name, called Gu Long.

Gu Long's serialized novel "The Prodigal Son of border city" is a sequel to "The Ruthless Sword of the Amorous Swordsman". The "Full Moon Curved Knife" published later was actually a sequel to "Jianghu Man". "Full Moon Curved Knife" is the fourth work to be filmed by TVB for two versions of the series.
