Touching the Heart - Natsume Soseki's "Heart" after reading

I first came into contact with the book "Heart" on Baidu, because of a random keyword push and noticed this book. The author is a famous Japanese literary scholar, Natsume Soseki, a name that is well known.

I wanted to read Mr. Li's work because a book review mentioned words like "suicide note, suicide." A month ago, I was tormented by the pressure of study and school closures, every night was affected by insomnia, often got up at night, I hope to be able to read this book, wash my soul, if there is a little life feeling is better;

I thought like this, in the quiet late night to open the WeChat reading, who knows a little bit of "heart", I can't stop watching.

One of the reasons why we modern people don't like to read books is that the writing is too long, and it is inevitable that it will be drowsy to read, but "Heart" makes my eyes light up; there are hundreds of chapters in the whole book, and the average number of words on each page is only five hundred to one thousand, which is very much in line with my taste as a modern person, and reading it with Mr. Wang's interesting language increases my curiosity about the next chapter.

So I spent only two weeks of my spare time reading it, and I was even able to read some other books while watching it.

Here I would like to introduce the story of "Heart": the young student "I" is a college student, because of playing at the beach and got to know "Sir", through the unremitting efforts of "I", "I" and "Mr." gradually became acquainted, "I" visited the home of "Mr." I found that "Mr." is actually a very lonely person, and almost no one will come to visit him except "me" on weekdays. In this way, there seems to be some secret in him...

"I" met "sir" wife, and when "sir" was away, "I" and my wife always chatted, once talking about the feelings between their husband and wife, and the wife said that the husband was indeed in love with him, and he always told his wife what to do if he went first. "I" learned that they rarely quarreled between husband and wife, but they obviously had a sense of strangeness when they were harmonious.

After a few more years, "I" will graduate from college, and when writing my graduation thesis, "I" like to talk to "Mr." Through his interactions with him, "I" found that he was a knowledgeable person, "I" suggested that he go to the literary world to develop, but he rejected this suggestion, "I" boldly said to him, wanting to know about his past, "Sir" was silent, he said that he would confess and be clear about this matter, but still come to Japan to discuss.

In the end, "I" successfully passed the paper, but bad news came from home, and "Sir" suggested that "I" make a request for the distribution of property to the family as soon as possible, at which time "I" did not understand what he meant.

During the summer vacation, "I" went home to visit my very ill father, who at first his condition was stable and then became more and more serious, and my mother suggested that "I" write to "Sir" and ask him to introduce him to work, I did not want to do this, but I did it anyway.

Two months later, "I," who was supposed to be looking for a job in Tokyo, received a letter from "Sir," a confession he had promised, and after writing the letter, he committed suicide. The general meaning of the letter is that the husband and the landlord's miss are both in love, but the gentleman has a friend who has encountered difficulties, he offered to help the friend, he took him to the landlord's house, the friend liked the miss, and confided with the husband, the husband was sour and unbearable, but helpless, the husband always saw them walking together, jealous, and finally one day to the landlord proposed his desire to marry the lady, his friend recently encountered a bad luck, and learned of this matter, hanged himself one night.

In this way, the husband lived with the lady with decades of guilt.

This book talks about many things, death, socializing, employment, love, friendship, but also tells us one thing, the problems that people were bothering a hundred years ago still have no solution a hundred years later. Just like the title of the book, the distance between man and man, heart and heart should be valued, and if "I" did not take the initiative to find Mr. "Sir", perhaps I would not have received a long letter of confession from "Mr. "Sir", and these possibilities are in our own hands.

We can use this book as a mirror, this mirror is called the distress of life, maybe take a look, look at the mirror life is difficult but still trying to live, you can also get some comfort.
