Don't give Chinese face to Chung Shu and Ark

Qian Zhongshu was so angry that the teacher did not think much of him.

Wu Mi is very respectful of Qian Zhongshu, and Qian Zhongshu also likes this teacher. But Qian Zhongshu wrote a book review for the "Collected Poems of Wu Mi" published before the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, but it embarrassed the teacher.

Qian Zhongshu did not consider his teacher to be a great poet, and there are not many good works in the poetry collection according to the strict sound law of old Chinese poetry. He is not afraid to directly state the problem, and the teacher's poems contain "too much of myself", a bit like a resume, and even "occasionally publicly promote the ugliness of the family".

Interestingly, as Qian Zhongshu points out, Wu Mi "intellectually hates exactly what he loves emotionally", and Wu Mi's words and deeds take on the romantic personality of "unrepentant" and record his romantic deeds in poetry. Wu Mi pursues love unscrupulously, and as a result "loses paradise and does not get Eve"; He really couldn't get rid of the lingering romantic demon. Isn't Wu Mi's tragedy and distress the "sharp pain" that stems from the depths of her soul? Therefore, Wu Mi seems to write poetry in order to seek emotional relief, so love poems occupy the most space, and its purpose seems to be not for "a frivolous girl without a brain", or for "a troubled woman".

In his later years, qian Zhongshu felt "indignant" at his "ridicule" in the manuscript of "Wu Mi's Diary", apologized for it, and publicly confessed his guilt. In fact, Qian Zhongshu's criticism of the teacher is very pertinent, whipped into it, Westerners have "I love my teacher, I love the truth more", but according to the ethical standards of Chinese society, it seems to be turned upside down and said: "I love the truth, I must love my teacher more." "In the Chinese society that pays attention to the dignity of teachers, students criticize teachers outspokenly, and it is difficult to get forgiveness no matter how reasonable they are.

Although Qian Zhongshu attaches great importance to knowledge in learning and does not pretend to be self-reliant, under the pressure of the Chinese society, he still has to follow the "social orientation" and openly feel sorry for the truth and direct words and "getting the pen fast" when he was young, so as to meet the expectations of society.

Ye Gongchao, another teacher of Qian Zhongshu, also told others that Qian Zhongshu was proud, and even told the American biographer that he did not remember Qian Zhongshu as a person, and his repression and resentment could be imagined.

Unlike Westerners, Chinese love face the most, and it is a great shame not to give face to anyone. In not giving Chinese face, Qian Zhongshu and Fang Arkzi are somewhat similar, and they will definitely be resented by people.
