"Terrorist Attack on Boston": Between the thoughts of life and death, human nature shines brightly
Text: Tian Jinshuang

When director Peter Borg truly restored the Boston Marathon explosion in his video lens, he did not deliberately sensationalize, but calmly and quietly restored the events at that time, the feelings of the parties and victims who experienced the incident, which is the valuable point that "Terrorist Attack on Boston" exceeds similar films.
To be precise, the content of "Terrorist Attack on Boston" is not complicated, but it is nothing more than a highly restored adaptation of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, telling the story of the police's pursuit of the suspects after the bombing attack. However, the film is bound with the descriptions of many people involved in the Boston explosions, including the original witnesses, survivors, law enforcement officers and government officials, as well as the general public, which truly portrays the true face of the war between good and evil at that time. This way of maximizing the restoration of events is more about human nature.
The first point in the film is 25 minutes after the opening of the film, that is, at 14:49 on April 15, 2013, which is the time when and an explosion sounded, and the smoke rose and people panicked. Until then, the film has simply given six groups of characters who are crucial in this explosion. Since then, the plot has rapidly advanced into the core plot. In fact, without this explosion, the lives of those people would have proceeded in an orderly manner according to the original trajectory, rather than being broken. Life is so impermanent that you never know what will happen in the next moment. For director Peter Borg, this is the clever layout in the film.
At that time, there were three direct victims of the bombing, restaurant manager Krystle Campbell, Chinese female student Lu Lingzi and an 8-year-old boy Martin Richard, but the film did not deliberately tell their story, but released photos at the end to mourn, which also shines the creator's respect for life, more human brilliance.
There is a touching section in the film: in order to truly restore the scene of the crime, the body of the 8-year-old boy cannot be moved casually. A policeman has been quietly guarding the side of the little boy who was killed. A policeman told his soulless wife about the dead little boy with tears in his eyes. The footage of the little boy's body being carried to the car with wet eyes saluting the hearse is very moving.
In fact, in addition to the male protagonist being a fictional character, all the characters in the film are the real restoration of the parties in reality, and everyone has a contrast, especially the Chinese boy who was kidnapped by terrorists with a key role in solving the truth. The film uses a multi-threaded narrative to cut into the lives of ordinary people, including couples who were disabled and lost by bombs, school policemen who were shot and killed by terrorists, Chinese boys who were taken hostage and fled on the road, and policemen who worked day and night to catch terrorists. In the face of sudden and cruel events in the city of Boston, everyone went from initial panic and fear to later unity and strength. This is the brilliance of life, this is the power of human nature, the radiance.
At the end of the film, the brother of the terrorists is killed and the younger brother is captured on the boat behind the house. All the investigators waited intently for the intercom to hear the phrase "V Team No. 6 report, suspect has been arrested" and cheered together, and officer Tommy finally smiled when he walked out of the bar full of officers and saw "remembering is not enough"; when the star player of red socks scolded and then shouted out the sentence "Stay Strong!" When, let people shed tears. This is the power of human nature, tragic, and moving.
The final ending of "Terror Attack on Boston" is not too sensational, but calm and silent, and when the amputated couple once again runs through the street that changed their lives, everything seems like yesterday, never changed. Such a foothold is more love and warmth, which is also the intention of the director to explain. After watching this film, if someone asks," is the world going to be better?" "You can tell him with certainty: Yes!
