Later, Yu Dayu went to the military department Shangshu Mao Bowen, was reinstated, and gradually rose to the command of The Imperial Guard by virtue of his repeated military achievements. At that time, fan Ziyi, a minister of the Ming Dynasty's vassal state of Annan, rebelled, and Yu Dayu led an order to go on a crusade. Yu Dayi severely damaged Fan Ziyi's warship, beheaded 1,200 people, and joined forces with Prince Annam to kill Fan Ziyi. However, Yu Dayu's battle achievements in quelling the rebellion were suppressed by Yan Song and not reported, and Yan Song only symbolically rewarded Yu Dayi with fifty taels of silver.
In the thirty-first year of Jiajing (1552), the Wokou invaded eastern Zhejiang, and the imperial court appointed Yu Dayu as a counselor general in ningbo and Taizhou to defend against the Wokou. Wukou attacked Changguowei (present-day Dinghai, Zhoushan), and Yu Dayu led his troops to repel Wukou. Wu Kou reversed direction, captured Shaoxing Linshanwei, and turned to Songyang County. Luo Gongchen of Songyang Zhi County struggled to resist, while Yu Dayu intercepted Wu Kou at sea and gained a lot. However, the imperial court actually stopped Yu Dayu's Feng Lu on the charge of wreckage. It was not until later that Yu Dayu burned more than fifty boats at sea that he resumed the distribution of Feng Lu.
In the spring of the thirty-fourth year of Jiajing (1554), the Wukou invaded on a large scale, and under the command of the governor Zhang Jing, Yu Dayu and his generals defeated the Wukou at Wangjiangjing. However, this time the credit was taken by Yan Song's son Zhao Wenhua and his accomplice Hu Zongxian, and Yu Dayu was demoted. In fact, this was already a blessing in misfortune, and the same meritorious governor Zhang Jing was directly beheaded.
Later, some Wokou retreated, Yu Dayu continued to go out to sea to pursue, the Wu ships lost a lot of war and hurricanes, only three hundred people fled to the shore, but the Wokou in other places have been gathered here, and more than forty Wu ships have been gathered. The inspector impeached Yu Dayu for indulging Inco, and as a result, the Jiajing Emperor was furious, deprived the Yu Dayu family of its hereditary privileges, and said that Yu Dayu was a capital offense, allowing him to make meritorious atonement.
Yu Dayu also used his military exploits of killing Wokou many times, not only redeeming false charges, but also promoting him to the position of Governor Tongzhi. However, the official chair was not yet hot, and he was pit again. In the thirty-seventh year of Jiajing (1558), the yu dang of the famous pirate leader Wang Zhi was entrenched in Zhoushan and Cen Gang to rebel. Because of the continuous flow of Wukou into the pirate regiment, Yu Dayu and Qi Jiguang's two armies could not be attacked for a long time, so the imperial court dismissed Yu Dayu and Qi Jiguang from their posts and gave them a one-month deadline to pacify Wukou.
Yu Dayu and Qi Jiguang launched a fierce attack on the Wokou, and it was difficult to win, but the governor Hu Zongxian secretly released the besieged Wokou. Some ministers impeached Hu Zongxian, and Hu Zongxian pushed the back pot to Yu Dayu. Yu Dayi fell from heaven, was arrested and imprisoned, and was once again deprived of hereditary privileges.

Fortunately, Yu Dayu had a good friend Lu Bing, who was in charge of the Jinyi Guard, and Lu Bing's relationship with the Jiajing Emperor was very good, and his official position was very high. Lu Bing bribed Yan Song's son Yan Shifan with heavy money and asked Yan Song for help, so that Yu Dayu could be released from prison. Yu Dayu returned to the army, first inflicting heavy losses on the Mongol cavalry in the north, and then going to Guangdong to quell Zhang Lian's rebellion.
