On the way to find a job in his hometown, he met Kasuke, and the two were driven by heavy rain to an udon noodle shop, where the grandmother brought them fragrant udon noodles, and after they finished eating, they realized that the udon noodles in their hometown were the best ramen in Japan. So the two began to investigate the production of udon noodles in their hometown and promoted them to the whole country, which soon caused a "udon boom" in Japan.
Tourists continue to set off here, and the hometown udon shop has to reduce the production process of udon noodles in order to cope with the surge of customers, and thus loses the original taste of udon noodles. The so-called food, only mixed with serious feelings can become a good product, when the hometown udon noodles became a tool for profit, it also lost what Kaosuke Matsui said "taste of home", the udon boom soon dissipated, and the hometown became popular again.
At the end of the film, his father falls seriously ill, and it is not until his father's death that Kazuo Matsui realizes his father's feelings for him. Joke himself back home, but also only angry that he did not adhere to the dream he once had, he once looked down on the udon noodles, but his father used it to secretly pay off his debts.
